Question about partial day conference tickets & timing

I am attending a conference in a couple of weeks that is at the Swan/Dolphin and I plan to visit Epcot one evening. On that day, the conference ends at about 4pm and I was going to walk straight over to the International Gateway (or take a boat). However, that's only like a 10-15 minute walk...do I need to kill time until exactly 5pm or are they a little flexible on the exact park entry time?

I don't want to get the blue mickey or something and feel awkward :o, but I also don't want to waste a single precious minute of park time if I can help it. ;)

Thanks in advance!

I don't have a definitive answer, but I suspect that you will get the blue Mickey until exactly 5pm (that's the way the computer system has got to be programmed for that type of ticket). But that said, it's very possible (maybe even probable) that if you arrived at the International Gateway around 4:30, the CM at the tapstyle would override it and let you in. The closer to 5 you get there, the more likely I'd think your chances of getting in a bit early are. 4:15? Maybe not. 4:40? Highly doubt the CM will much care.

Worst case, they make you hang out until 5.

If the CM does allow you in early, there won’t be a problem unless you have other valid tickets linked to MDE. Entering prior to 5:00 would deduct an entitlement from any regular ticket that is also linked to where the Conference ticket is linked.

Thank you both!!

I do have other tickets on my MDE account, but I have them assigned to a "dummy" person just to avoid that issue! And the last time I did this...I actually had them scan the hard ticket because I was so worried the system would still accidentally use a full day ticket by mistake, even with it assigned to a fake person who didn't have a magic band.

One a ticket is linked to an account, the card acts like a band; it accesses all tickets attached to that person. If you move the ticket to someone else, the card remains linked to the original person, not the one with the ticket.

We had after 2pm convention tickets, and we arrived at 1:30. We tried to go through, but the Mickey head was blue. They told us to wait until 1:45, which we did and he Mickey head turned Green.

Thank you so much! This is very helpful to know! :)
