Hey All,
First time going west to Disneyland, will be traveling with my teen son and hitting Disney for a few days after a tour of some national parks (GC, Zion, Joshua Tree). We are going to be driving a rental car and the timing is such that we will leave Joshua Tree the morning of July 10, and arrive before check-in time at Stovall's. I've spoken to the front desk and asked about parking availability if we wanted to head to the parks before check-in and the answer was kind of murky, implying we might be waiting around to check-in before acquiring a space, which kind of sucks. Parking is $20/day there vs $40 I think, at the parks? Our plan is just to walk daily. Is there an alternative I'm not considering?
I am booking through Costco. I was planning to do things directly, but Costco is the slightly better deal + you receive a $145 Disney GC which I thought could allow us to splurge a bit on food. The only question is are things as refundable through a 3rd party?
Lastly, my original plan was to only do 2 days at the parks with the hotel and just go see parts of L.A. before an evening flight back to Boston, but an additional day at the parks would allow us 2 rope drops vs just 1-I think it's worth it, and then maybe check out by 3 and we see a few things by car in LA before heading to LAX for the evening flight. Does that sound more reasonable/realistic? If you had to choose, which park would get 2 days (we don't do park hopper generally)? I'm thinking 1 day for California Adventure. Galaxy's Edge is a must for us.
Thanks in advance.
