Question about Owner's Locker for those who drive to WDW

In considering all things related to DVC, I have been researching the Owner's Locker service. It looks like it is a great service and well liked by many. I posted this same question on their site, but would like some feedback from my fellow DISers as well. For those of you who drive to your DVC resorts, do you use this service and why or why not?

Thanks

We almost always drive from CT and we do not use the OL service. I find it far too expensive for something that I can easily do on my own. Even before OL was around, I purchased a large plastic tote and filled it with the things I use on our WDW trips.. Then I just leave this tote in the closet or basement until our next trip. It's the first thing that gets packed. A nice thing about bringing your own is that you'll still have it with you if you go to Vero Beach or Hilton Head. That wouldn't be true with an OL.

I think the OL is a great service for those who are willing to pay for it. I just see no point in doing so when I can just pop my tote into the car and bring it along with me!

Why would I pay for an OL when I have my whole car? Besides, I take several trips each year (at least 6), so I'd have to pay the max, too.

It makes sense for people who fly down, who want all that extra stuff for each trip. For people who drive though, I don't see how it makes any sense at all unless you typically have the car crammed full of people and barely enough room for minimal luggage.

This is sort of what I was thinking. We drive an SUV and do take a lot of luggage. I think with DVC the packing may be less with the washer and dryer. But with all of the positive reviews, I wanted some feed back.

Also, Craftymouse made a good point about HH and VB. Hadn't thought of that.

While we have usually flown to WDW recently, we have also driven and really appreciated having our locker waiting for us at the resort. We have an amazing amount of "stuff" stored in the locker and we would not have room in our vehicle for a locker that large in addition to our other luggage.

When we first heard about Owner's Locker we had similar doubts about the value of the service for us. After using the service for almost 2 years now, we couldn't imagine not having our "stuff" already waiting for us at WDW.

We just took our 2nd trip with our OL. We flew both trips, a very odd thing for us, actually. We will drive at Christmas, and I can just say that I am STILL so glad we have the locker there. It's just that much less stuff to pack and unpack.

And having it there already was great, since DH and I took an unplanned weekend trip last weekend -- we were able to fly with 1 carry-on for the two of us and the camera bag and backpack. Packing took us all of about 10 minutes! I think it's really great, if you go frequently.

We go to WDW several times a year and fly. But we always drive at Christmas. With airlines charging for baggage, leaking bottles of liquids in checked luggage and the "Stuff" that is just disney related, we decided to get OL and will use for the first time next month. It made sense to us.

Plus if we ever do a non disney vacation there are tons of resorts in the area that they deliver to.

We think it's worth it
