I have a *********** membership with Alamo and I'm wondering - if I make a reservation today, will my credit card be billed today? Or is it only charged when I pick the car up?

This is Alamo's wonderful new website, it now acts much like Emerald Membership with National. I am not impressed In order to have an on-line account now you must be Quick Silver (make it two words). They claim that the CC information is needed for the expedited reservation and check in process. Though I don't think you can use Quick Silver like you can Emerald Isle, you still have to go to the kiosk, counter, or check in on-line.

Your card shouldn't be charged at the time you make the reservation. A way around it all is to just make your reservation without logging in to the Alamo website. You will get an e-mail confirmation and you won't have your CC information tied to the reservation at all. The 10% discount Quick Silver offers can be obtained by any number of publicly available codes, so it isn't like you need to have your Quick Silver number attached to the reservation. We will probably start to make reservations while not logged in now since the "My Itineraries" feature has also been removed. I let Alamo know of my displeasure of this loss.
