Hi yall- before my last trip with Dad to WDW (he has parkinsons) this board was helpful re: which rides had moving walkways that could or could not be slowed down. I checked the faqs but don't see anything about ride accessability/walkways for DLR- anyone have any info or helpful hints? We're going April 20th, so crowds should be low as best as I can figure

Buzz Lightyear, Haunted Mansion and Little Mermaid. They can slow the walkways, but you will probably have to wait. They try to only slow once per ride cycle for the safety of the guests on the ride. Also Goofy's Sky School cars never stop in the loading area, I'm not sure they can stop that one. GRR platform rotates, but the raft stays with the rotation. You will also want to ask for the alternate loading area on Space and RSR to get more time to load and unload. If you also need to avoid stairs, ask for that at each attraction. Think that's it, there are rides that time out if loading takes too long, so you will want to let the CMs know at the entrance that you'll need extra time, they might direct you to the accessible entrance.

thanks- he uses a rollator or wheelchair, and we don't mind waiting at all. I know he really wanted to go on little mermaid so I'm thrilled he will be able to. What's the situation with nemo? He does have difficulty with transfers but I know how to help him from a safety perspective. Ill definitely let the CMs know, just want to make sure I don't get him in an unsafe situation, or promise him something we can't do:)

Nemo has a steep and narrow spiral staircase. There is an alternate experience where you watch the ride video in a room. As for it when you get to the point of the line where they're counting people off onto subs. With a rollator you're going to end up using the alternate entrance at most attractions in DL. You can ask at each line and they'll direct you. You may also end up getting a wheelchair return time at many attractions. That will require them to scan the tickets of everyone in your party. You might actually want to consider a wheelchair. He can still use it like a rollator and push it most of the time, but if he does need to sit down then it's easier for the rest of the party to push a wheelchair around the park than a rollator. If you decide to rent a wheelchair midday, the rental location should store the rollator for you.
