Hi, I am new here and hope you all can help. This is such a wonderful site!
My DH and I are taking 2 of our 3 grandkids ( girl-age 8 and boy-age 5...other child is too new!) to WDW Sept. 17th-24th. I have purchased tickets for Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party. I have a few questions. We plan on going to Sea World that day...and I want to have time to rest a bit between Sea World and The Halloween Party. Also want time to have the kids change into their costumes. I have dinner reservations @ Liberty Tree Tavern @ 8:00...as I wanted the characters to be in costume. What time is the parade? What will we miss while we eat? Have I allowed enough time to rest? ...I hope to be back from Sea World around 4pm. I only need the Halloween tickets for admission, right? I want to save the 5th day of our 5 day Park Hopper Pass for Saturday...so they can choose what they want to do that last day. I booked dinner today because of what I have read here...with the free dining, which we have...afraid it will be difficult to get reservations later. I am not new to WDW...but have not been since 97...and its been QUITE awhile since I went with little ones. Any must do and try to see tips about the Halloween Party will be MUCH appreciated. Thanks! :)

I think the parade usually runs at 8pm and 10pm. :)

If you are dining at LTT at 8pm, I would like to mention that you could be in there for up to 2 hours! It will also depend if you get seated right at your ADR time, or if you have a while to wait. ;)

We are going to eat at 5pm (at one of the resorts) so we can be at MK at 7pm for the start of MNSSHP as we don't want to miss anything. Dining during the party will mean that you might miss the parade, or some of the other special events or character greetings.

The last time we were at MNSSHP, our LTT ADR time was 6.45pm and by the time we got out, it was 8.30pm - we'd already missed the first parade! :sad2: This time around, I don't want to waste valuable party time sitting in a restaurant that I could visit anytime.

By the way, the characters will be in costume at LTT from as soon as the restaurant opens for dinner! :thumbsup2

I'd try to get an earlier seating at LLT if that is possible with your schedule. You wouldn't want to miss the parade if your dinner is running late.

I agree with the pp about changing the ADR time to much earlier. You don't want to miss any of the fun and the parade! This will be our first year doing MNSSHP, but my understanding is there is Trick or Treat in the parks also...and little ones do like to 'indulge' in their candy stash...I would hate to see a bit of candy + a big dinner = tummyache! Just a thought...

Best of luck with your planning! :wizard:

We have been to MNSSHP for the last 5 years.

Keep in mind that you can enter MK with your MNSSHP ticket at 4:00. The park closes at 6:00. All MNSSHP guests are put into one of the lands while they are preparing the park for the evening. The whole park reopens at 7:00 when all the FUN begins. From 6:00 - 7:00 is when we grab dinner, not a character meal, but whatever resteraunt is open in whatever land they have us in. If you are only doing the character dinner to see them in costumes you might want to rethink that. Characters are throughout the park all night and they are in costume. An 8:00 reservation may blow most of your night. You will miss the first parade and Hallowishes (Halloween fireworks), as well as taking away from trick or treating time, riding on the rides time, attending Dance parties and seeing Cinderellabration.

Good Luck with whatever you decide to do!!

I agree 100%...we had LTT last year at 5:30 and we felt extremely rushed...this year we aren't making an ADR at all...The party is SOOO fun and is WAY TOO SHORT even if you spend every second from 7 to midnite enjoying the festivities...with resies @ 8pm you will miss the meat of the party! DON'T DO IT!!

The LTT with the characters dressed up was good but was nothing compared to the atmosphere of the park, the trick or treating, fireworks and parade!! These are not to be missed!! (by the way our kids were 7,5 & 2 last fall)

Good Luck pirate:

:thanks: for info. I'm thinking about going for the first time on Sept. 15th. Your info is very helpful. I wondered what they did with you if you entered at 4 p.m.
