Question about Max Pass and Discount Tickets

Hello,

I have been reading up on everything and it seems to me that some discount companies like Undercover Tourist sell passes with Max Pass but LMTC does not. Is it really pre-loaded with these other companies? Is there an advantage to having it pre-loaded? With the new ride, and having to sign in immediately for a Boarding Pass, is it more important to have Max Pass already loaded vs adding it daily?

Thank you!

Preloaded just saves you the step of purchasing it daily. It also locks in the price should it increase (however I would honestly be shocked if it raised above the current $15/day price).

Buying daily gives you the option to choose not to get it every day. Potential money savings if you don't want it every day.

It does help one know if one's tickets were scanned properly being able to book a MP prior to official park opening so one is prepared to attempt to obtain a BG. However, being able to go through the motions to purchase MP at all will also show this honestly because you can't buy for tickets that haven't been scanned in. MP isn't necessary to get a BG. It just helps with knowing your ticket/pass was scanned properly (I have had situations in the past where my pass was not scanned correctly and had to be rescanned for me to make FPs via MP).

Basically: no. It doesn't really matter. I would go with the super good deal the LMTC tickets are (assuming they haven't increased yet) if you're grabbing the 5day PHs and purchase MP daily. Those were frankly a stupid good deal when I ran the numbers in a spreadsheet compared to other sites even counting MP purchase.

HOWEVER. If you're planning to upgrade to an AP and would not be upgrading until your final day for whatever reason, but would be purchasing MP daily, note that your MP daily purchase might not be counted towards your new pass (it's CM dependent). This is the only time I would consider having MP preloaded if I was going to be using my ticket to upgrade and I was not planning to upgrade day 1 so that I would get the full value I paid.

Great info, thank you! We are looking at a 4 day park hopper. We will arrive Sunday around 1pm so not sure if a Max Pass would even be worth it for that day. You made a lot of sense. I've just been concerned with the BG posts. My husband isn't nearly as fast as me so I didn't want to leave it to him. 😆

I have gotten my tickets the past 2 years from LMT and would always have MaxPass purchased and be working on getting my first MP bu the time I cam through the tunnel under the Railroad. It's very easy, just be sure to memorize the code from your credit card as it acts like a pin when buying it. You don't want to be fumbling getting your CC out.

One way to find out about MP availability is to use the app before you go in on that Sunday. Tap on a ride's wait time and it will show you what the current FP return time is. Check the rides that you want to go on and would use MP for to decide if you want it.

I have gone the last 2 Aug's and got MP our first days there with a 5p entrance on a Fri (11p close) and Sunday(mid-night close). We rode quite a few rides with it and even if the standby wait was say 10-15 min we would walk right on with MP and probably saved 60 to 90 min of waiting in line time each time.

You don't need MaxPass to access the boarding groups for RotR.

I know. I was concerned with adding Max and getting a boarding group at the same times as I could probably do both before my husband did one. He is... very meticulous.
