Question about luggage requirements

I am having a large 18"x33" magnet made for my stateroom door for my cruise and i was wondering once i roll it up should i pack it in my carryon luggage or my checked luggage. i don't want any hassles at the airport with my luggage being searched because of a stupid magnet.lol

That's true. However the key to a search is what it looks like on the xray. If it's a"black hole," and a magnet may be, they will check it out. I'd opt for carry on so I can watch them.
If they do search ask them to put on clean gloves. Who knows what they were into before your stuff.
