Question about luggage handling for DCL port to WDW resort bus

We will be using the DCL bus from Port Canaveral to the BoardWalk Villas after our cruise on the Fantasy in March. Do we have to claim luggage and carry it to the bus when we leave the ship or is it transferred directly to the resort?

When we were on the Fantasy last year, we flew directly home on Southwest on port arrival day, so we had to claim our luggage and carry it to the port-to-airport bus, but I was thinking the luggage handling may be different for port-to-resort transfers.

For port to resort transfers, yes, you'll claim your bags in the terminal, carry them through immigration/customs and then hand them off to the bus driver for placing beneath your bus to go to the resort. Once at the resort, you again claim your bags - this time from the bus driver, and either hand them off to the bell person, or carry them yourself to the check in desk.
