Question about Le Cellier

Okay so we have ADRs for Le Cellier on our upcoming trip for dinner. We are on the Dining Plan.

I really want the cheese soup but I don't really care for the entree options on the Chefs favorite. I really want the Le Cellier Mushroom Filet Mignon, So, it would be better to pay OOP for a bowl of soup right? Cause they do not allow subs?

This all makes sense in my head, I guess I just need reassurance!! LOL

I paid OOP for the cheese soup - it was the only edible thing during our meal other than the pretzel bread (even though the soup was also very salty for my taste). Everything there was much too salty for our taste (and we got the mushroom filet). Although a very well-cooked filet, the heavy hand with the salt left us very disappointed.

We always pay out of pocket for the soup now that the dining plan no longer comes with an appetizer and we found it well worth it. We love the filet--always cooked to perfection every time we've had it (at least four times).

I would pay out of pocket for the soup so that you can have the entree that you want. My ds8 will not eat any of the appetizer options on the kids menu, so I will order his soup for me to dip the bread in.

On our last trip it was mushroom filets all around and all I can say is I am glad the soda is refillable because the salt had us getting refill after refill. The filet itself is amazing but I just don't get the heavy use of salt in the risotto. As my dad used to say, this guy must work for the department of highways (not sure if you use salt on the roads like we do up here in the winter so excuse me if the joke doesn't translate well).

Next trip, I will substitute the cream cheese mash potatoes for the risotto.

I keep meaning to get a phone number of the restaurant and suggesting they hide the salt shakers from the chef before we all get a coronary.

I paid out of pocket for my cheese soup. However, if you have kids that is one of their appetizer options...Both of my kids wanted, but when it arrived they didn't like the taste, so we had 3 bowls of cheese soup to split b/t me and my husband!

I don't like mushrooms so I never get the risotto. I always get the cream cheese mashed potatos...I've never noticed them to be excessively salty.

Yes, soup OOP and worth every penny and get extra pretzel bread. :)

Yes, you would have to pay for the soup. They will not give the filet as the chef option. it is so worth it.

Thanks so much!!

That is what I figured, about paying OOP. Sometimes when I think things in my brain, they don't always work out in real life!! LOL
