Question about journaling

I do both, handwriting and typing. I always create my layout first and see how big my space is that I have to journal on (I have a tendency to put a lot of pictures on layouts because I take too many photos!! So I always create my layout before I type) . So if I have a 3x2 space or an odd sized 5x2 space to fill, I type my info to fit that space (My older microsoft word had inches on the side, the new updated one doesn't:scared1:). If I have already created the layout too then I know what color of cardstock to print on, etc. I also like vellum too. This is how I found that works for me because it all fits together nicely then at the end.

I posted a few examples below. I know I am a visual person so I thought it might be easier to see what I mean.

I created the layout and knew I didn't have much space, so I made the font smaller and watched my spacing.

Or this one I had more room, but knew the the exact size it needed to be to squeeze into my spot. Printed it on cream to match.

This one, I even printed on orange to add a little more color.

I often create a few layouts and then go back to do the typing all at once. I even found that I could use scraps by taping the scrap where I needed it on a piece of paper and running it through the printer that way. Great way to use up paper : ) Then I could do several prints at once by taping a few scraps and spacing it out : ) Hope this makes sense and hope this helps.

Thanks for the ideas and these are such cute pages!

I use any color paper I'm scrapping with. Since I keep straps of paper I used in the past I USUALLY have a scrap of the color I am using at the moment.
I always scrap with Bazzill.

I also adjust my printer to print on 3x4, 4 x5, 8x10, 5x7 etc. So can can journal on any size I need.

You can see what I've done here

I'm just doing a hertiage album for my mum so I'm doing all the captions in one go, on A4 white cardstock in a typewriter font. I may need to adjust a few sizes though before I do the final print.
