Question about Holiday Inn Priority Club

I joined the priority club and got 960 points from my 6 night stay at HIFS. What are the points used toward? How many points do you need to 'earn' something? I know you get late checkouts or something being a club member, but what other benefits are there?

You get free nights at HI with points, 13000 for most regular HI, 8000 for HIExpress. You get discounts with National also. WE are using points for 2 nights free at Daytona after WDW in June, just from my husbands business trips. Can come in usful! That is all I am sure of, except 2pm checkout, and reservations from an 800 number.

I am wondering..how you could only get 960 points with a 6 night stay! I have ressies in june for 10 days..and I was told without anything added extra to the bill( she told me to charge everything i buy at the hotel to my room..food,gift shop,.ect). I would have 14,000 points. (basically, i am spending 1400.00).

So, I would have HI refigure your points..or maybe iwas just given the sham!! HOPE NOT!!

We are leaving Orlando and heading towards Cocoa Beach..to HOLIDAY INN there..racking up the points!!!

Our six nights only came to $474.00 before tax. I assume that's what they base our points on. We probably only spent another 125.00 at the hotel while we were there. Does 960 points seem right for that?

Unless it has very recently changed, you get 10 points for every dollar spent at the hotel (room, meals, etc.).

We've used our free points for stays at Holiday Inn Express, since we feel you get more for your money that way. But, they also have a merchandise catalog that you can request that has things to pick from.

You can also have the points tranferred to other reward clubs. I transfer mine into my Northwest Airline club.

Just to let anyone know, you cannot redeem your Priority Points for many of the Orlando area HI/Express, etc.hotels. I tried this in December and they wouldn't accept it.

Hubby is a HI member. We have approx 75,000 points to date this year. One night at a HI in orlando is 25,000 points. Not worth it. accumulate your points and use them elsewhere in the states. However, I think Marriott points are the best. We stayed in a 2 bedroom villa, with jacuzzi, 2 baths w/d for 4 nights for only 75,000 points. Was just great

Yes, the cost of points for a night in Orlando is 25,000 points regardless of whether you use HIEx or HISunspree. We only use our points in other places (there are some other places in FL that you can get the HIEx for the regular amount, but not anywhere near Orlando).

You can also use your points for gift certificates, such as Target, Home Depot or restaurants like Chart House, Fridays, Applebees.
(other places too--check the priority club site for details)

Only 8,000 pts for a $25 gift cert.
And I think it is 15,000 for a $50.

What seems like an even better deal...you can get a one day adult Universal Studios Florida ticket for 12,750 points.

I still think it is pretty good deal.

I stayed last night at Holiday Inn in Illinois..and gathered up even more points!

Even with Marriot Rewards, avoid using them at Fairfields & Courtyards around Orlando-they charge double points at a lot of the locations.
Better to use elsewhere.

HI Card will often give you a better room rate too-although more frequently at HI, not HIExpress. We stayed in Dubuque IA for about 35% off with the card rate.
