I was so disappointed that when I called to make our ressies for the Swan/Dolphin with our teachers rate (both DH and I are teachers) that they do not have any handicapped accessible rooms that can accomodate more than 2 possibly 3 (Pull-out) people. We have a family of 4 and I was so sad. When I then inquired about getting 2 ajoining rooms I was told they could not promise they would be connecting. I don't want to sound greedy as we are getting a nice rate using the teachers rate but 2 rooms for 6 days was getting pretty steep and that would mean DD with me in one room, DS and DH in another.....
But we may not have even been on the same floor!I have to say the people I spoke to were wonderful!!!!! They were very nice and very polite. After making a few calls and checking with a few people on these boards we got the problem solved and They were great about it. Ok enough of that here is the question.......with the renovations going in are they planning on putting in any larger handicapped rooms?? It would make sense. When I talked to the Mgr. He said the size of the existing rooms will not allow them to put in 2 double beds instead of the king bed as that would not leave enough room for a wheelchair to get around the beds. Whom can I write a note to suggesting that maybe they put in a few larger handicapped rooms? I will not be nasty and I will be sure to tell them how nice everyone was. I know that I cannot be the only person that has a family of 4 where one child is in a wheelchair. I was told that a few hotels do have handicapped rooms that accomadate 4 with a chair but they were pretty expensive and was told they book fast.Just wondering if you knew the renovation plans.
