Hello,

Can you please tell me if the standard view room and the theme park view room is the same except for the view. Is the standard the same size?

What kind of view can I expect from the standard view?

Thank you,
Frank

Yes. They are the same size. The standard view rooms look out over the front of the hotel, the drive way in, Disneyland drive and across to the Paradise Pier hotel, some parking areas and the Disneyland hotel. Some of them may be tucked in behind some roof areas like the Porte Cochere. There is also a spot in the middle called the "monorail courtyard" which is landscaped with some flowers and trees and redwoods. This is where I had requested and it looks across to other rooms and balconies. Things were fairly new when we were there but the trees have grown in a lot. We had a slight peek at Downtown Disney. The monorail glided by about 20 feet from our balcony!

P.S. Congradulations on your neww SSR. What color did you get and is it as fun as it looks?

Hey thanks for the info. We bought in at DVC Saratoga Springs Resort (SSR) not the new Chevy truck. I wish I had one of those.

Thanks again.
Frank

<font color=navy>This is the view we had from our city-standard room facing east. I think it was room 4101, and I really liked it - had 2 queen beds and a day bed.

We were over the main entrance, and could see the monorail, and in the distance Rainforest Cafe, ESPN Zone, AMC Theaters and Disneyland Hotel.

Here's another view looking east. You see the DL Hotel Bonita tower to the left, the Sierra Tower in the middle. In the lower left area through the trees, you see the parking for Grand Californian Hotel

Question???? My travel agent booked us a standard view at GC but says the room has no balcony(only a window that opens). Is this true? It is $289 per night incl/tax. (with AP) too much I think!

Mary Jo, great pictures--very helpful. I love that view!!

Doh!!!!
I am not used to the Saratoga Springs abbreviation yet!

<font color=navy>There are some standard rooms overlooking the courtyard that don't have balconies because they're right over the monorail (about 12 of them). It could be you're in one of those rooms.

Unless the hotel is booked, you shouldn't have any trouble changing rooms.

thank you Mary Jo for the pictures and for answering my questions before i even got to ask them ;) :D

<font color=navy>Mickeyfaniam,

This answers your question on the other thread....

the standard room we were in w/the 2 queens and the daybed seemed more spacious than the other standard rooms - another reason I liked it so much.

In addition, the room we were in was really close to the elevators, and when I left the door ajar, I could hear the piano player in the lobby. I think we were right above the entrance to the hotel, or above the lobby reception desk.

thank you again Mary Jo
I guess I just need to call back now and request a room with a balcony.
