My friend and I am going in october... and planning out little hearts out for our Momvacay.... so Question.. We watch to watch Fantastic from a comfy location.. i.e. restaurant or viewing area... Blue Bayou? River Belle or hungry bear? I know prices are different, but really what option seemed to be the best for the buck?

The only way to see Fantasmic! at DL from a comfortable viewing location is to either get a VIP tour, or get a spot at Riverbelle Terrace well in advance. And that spot is not that great a place to view it from. All other spots are sitting on the ground or standing. If you do BB or HB you will get a pass so that you can for sure sit on the ground from a very good location.

On the bright side, it is a really awesome show!

As stated above, "comfy" and "best view" aren't readily available together for the average guest viewing Fantasmic! Personally, we think the best view is from the Dining Package viewing areas (so BB, RBT, or HB) right up by the water. If you can sit on the ground reasonably comfortably (and the BB package does come with a firm foam cushion), you will have a good/great view of the show. All the dining package areas have good views, so choose which menu and price point work best for you. If you want to sit on a chair and eat dinner during the first show, you can book the RBT Premium Dining Package (book by phone only) and view from the RBT patio. This is "comfy," but not, at least in my opinion, a great view of the show. The RBT patio is further back and off to the right somewhat. If you are not seated up front at the railing, you will be seated behind other parties who might obstruct your view. If you book a VIP tour (expensive option just for F! viewing), you will be allowed to sit (on a chair) in the reserved seating section for VIP guests behind the Dining Package (on the ground) viewing areas.
You can do a search on this forum for threads on the F! Dining Package options to read reviews of the menus and to see photos and some videos taken from the various viewing areas.

Best view is from the reserved area for Blue Bayou, it is front and center! However, even with a cushion, I wouldn't call it a comfy spot.

One night we had FP's for the regular viewing area but got scared off by the herding and crowding going on so we decided to watch from Riverbelle Terrace. This was before the dining package existed at that location and we were able to find a table to watch from and the view was ok. You couldn't make eye contact with the characters like in the BB area, but you could see everything going on. Plus, you have either a head start on escaping the crowds after the show or a place to hunker down until they dissipate.

I'm not positive where Hungry Bear's area is...

Have fun planning!!

HB's Dining Package area is directly to the left of the BB area (when facing the water). RBT's Dining Package area is directly to the right of BB's area. So good viewing for all 3 packages.

Hijacking..... is there designated wheelchair viewing if we don't do a dining package?

I wish I knew the answer to this but I don't. Someone else needs to jump in.

Before FP was implemented for F! a couple years ago, the HC (handicapped) area was over near the Mark Twain in front of RBT. I do not know if they still use that or not.

Anyone?

We just did the BB Fantasmic package a few days ago and the food was very good. The viewing area was front center. With the package you were given a foam cushion to sit on and keep. We enjoyed the show. I do like the seating at WDW better but we did enjoy the show.
