Hope this is the right place to ask this..............

I ordered my first item off Ebay on August 7. Paypal says the person was paid. I have not yet received the item, a Disney twinkle pin. How long does it take to get an item you won??

Thanks..........

I would think you should've heard from them within 24hrs of winning item for them to notify when your item is being shipped. I would think within 1 week you should've gotten it. I'd go back on ebay and look on the sellers profile at what their feedback score is. Then, I'd email them directly telling them if they do not provide you with shipping info. within 24hrs you will be contacting paypal to dispute the charge. Good luckk!

I agree with the previous poster. I would email and ask when the item is going to be shipped. I once bought an item, they emailed me I had won and item would be shipped in 3 days. Well 2 weeks went by and I still hadn't received it. They had 99.9 feedback too. I emailed them back and they said it had shipped. It took about 17 days to get my item. All other items I have won I have received within a week. Good Luck!

It also depends on where the item is originating. I've waited a month to 6 weeks to get some things from Hong Kong. Other times, it seems that the mail is faster.

If the seller is legit, they should be able to tell you when it shipped. Did you pay for insurance on the item?

Thanks for the replies. I paid for shipping but there was no mention of insurance. The item was a Disney twinkle pin from a person in Florida, not expensive at all. I was, and still am, a bit leary about Ebay.

Thanks again,

FWIR, with some sellers, you can often expect to wait until the weekend after your payment clears for shipment to be made, and so you wouldn't get confirmation of shipment, assuming that confirmation of shipment was promised as part of the shipping terms and conditions, until the Monday after that. Then, depending on what type of shipping you paid for, you could expect perhaps another week before you see the item your purchased.

eBay is often confusing for buyers, because for most retail stores online, they do not (or aren't even allowed to) charge for the item until the time they ship, whereas with eBay, many sellers don't ship until payment has cleared.

Even so, the OP said she paid on August 7 through Paypal. Even if it was an online check it should have cleared at least by the 14th.

How was it shipped? I once mailed a Disney pin in a padded envelope first class, but didn't mark "first class" on the envelope. I just put enough postage on it and dropped it into the mail box. It was going 3 hours away, but didn't arrive for 3 weeks.

Even if the seller does this on the side and takes care of shipping and listing items when they are off work from their regular job, they should've had a day off by now. I agree with the others -- e-mail the seller and ask about the status, when and how (first class, priority, etc) it was shipped, and if there's a tracking number. If they paid by Paypal, they could easily take advantage of Paypal's shipping options, which include discounts on USPS delivery confirmation.

Yup, something should have shown up by now, for a payment made on August 7.

I agree. Contact your seller, but don't make any accusations--yet. Just politely ask when it was was shipped and if there is a tracking number. If they don't respond within a reasonable amout of time--I might give a little more than 24 hours before I'd file a complaint. But I definitely would file if you get no response.

I just had a situation where I shipped an item on August 11 via First Class Mail. It was going from Connecticut to Delaware. It was just delivered on Friday! The Post Office can be extremely slow sometimes.

I sent the seller an email through ebay on August 23 explaining that it was my first purchase and didn't know what to expect as to shipping/arrival times, etc. He has not yet replied. I think I will send an email to his personal address this afternoon.

He has an over 99% rating, so I thought it was fine. Some of the ratings even remarked on fast shipping.

Thanks for all your help.
