Question about Disney Gift Cards

I'm not 100% sure where to ask this, but I am assuming here is just as good a place as any!

I am headed to Disney World this weekend to run the Princess Half Marathon and have a bit of a girls weekend. My husband, after hearing about the Target thing combining his Target card with the 5% from the Pharmacy, got me a few of the Disney gift cards. I'm assuming that I can use them anywhere at Disney World? Restaurants, parks? Gift shops?

Is there anywhere on property that I can't?

None that I know of. Unless they don't have a card scanner, which some of the food carts might not.

Any Disney OWNED location will accept them.

If you're staying onsite, my advice would be to lock the gift cards up in your room and use your KTTW (Magic band now, I guess) to charge everything, then pay it off with the GCs. I always feel safer doing it that way than toting GCs around with me.

As a previous poster said, many food carts may not be equipped to accept any form of plastic, including Disney GCs.

As "on property" goes, Disney GCs are not accepted at Shades of Green, since that resort/restaurants are operated by the Department of Defense.

You can *try* to have each magic band linked with a different credit card... but don't get your hopes up. I was in a room with 2 others and we each wanted our own credit card on our own band. One worked, the other 2 were on the same bill. Yes, we could have gone down to the front desk and had them split it out, since the charges had our separate names on each one, but she just paid me cash and I took the bill. Think I probably got CC rewards for it too, of course.

They don't work at a few countries in Epcot. Japan is one and I can't remember the other.
