I have a $50 Disney gift card. Can I bring it on the ship and use that money towards my bill I'll be getting at the end? It would be nice if I could lower that a bit. I know it's already over 400 and I haven't even bought a drink yet!
Yes. I do this all the time. Go to Guest Services and ask them to apply it to your account. You can check on your spending through the trip there as well. Don't go the first day or the night before the last day. Lots of people in line. I normally wait until the morning of the second day to do this and it's less crowded.
I almost always use gift cards for my account. I *do* take it to guest services as soon as I board (I get the earliest PAT I can and am in one of the first post-concierge and platinum groups, and there is almost never a line) and have them put the gift card on the account. I hold onto the card so that if I have any left it will go back on the card. Easy peasy. (And no stressing over mystery extra charges showing up on a credit card.)
Yes I do this also. I get money back thru the kids school to buy gift cards, so I buy them thru the school and use them on board. Plus you can use the empty cards to keep your room lights on.
There were two different cards out there at one time....one was only good for the Disney Store and the other was good at all Disney properties, etc. Just read the back of the card. As long as Disney Cruise Line is there as one of the valid properties to use it you are golden!!
