Dh and I are going on 3-night Wonder in April and are trying to figure out the whole dining thing. We would love to try all the restaurants and Palo, but obviously don't have enough nights. We have heard about "double dipping" but we have late seating for dinner so we cant figure out how that would work. How early can we have a reservation for Palo??

Amanda

Palo serves from 6:00 P.M. to 10:00 P.M. You could try changing to early seating, as late seating will generally keep you at the table from 8:00 p.m. to at least 9:30 P.M. This would make double-dipping more practical.

Good luck on the dbl dippiung. I cannot amagine eating two meals. Why not forgoing your dining room meal the night you go to Paols. If you have children you get them something to eat at BBB. :boat:

We ate at Palo at 7 pm and then went to have dessert at Triton's (we had late seating). They were actually still serving main course when we arrived. The portion's at Palo are small enough that you might still have room for another meal at Triton's. We just loved having two wonderful desserts in the same night!

Here's my unpopular opinion; Palo's is very good but overall the restaurants are overblown and overrated. We didn't plan around meals last cruise and won't again on our next, too much else to do!

All the restaurants have their strengths and weaknesses. That being said, if you can get to PALO, skip any other restaurant. It is significantly better there. All of the food is made to order, as opposed to the mass production in the main cafeterias. We choose to skip Animators because we have already seen the show and the other two restaurants are better. 4 years ago I would have skipped Parrot Cay, but their new menu is very good. Lumieres is the best of the 3 rotations.

Your number one dining priority on the ship has to be dinner at Palos.

DH and I did a 3-day on our very first cruise ever and we did Palo the first night, skipping Triton's. We never felt like we had missed out on anything, but would have really regretted not having that chocolate souffle! :earseek:

yeah, skip the dining room and go to palos...you shouldnt miss that!

Maybe my taste are not highly sophisticated but I really enjoy the main dining rooms. The food is good, the atmosphere excellent and we have had a great time with our tablemates.

We only do Palo's for brunch. The scenery is better at lunch than at night.

You can have lunch at Tritons or Parrot Cay and get the atmosphere. I'd skip one of those.

imho, on a short first cruise, I wouldn't worry about eating in Palo. You have enough going on without thinking about that too.

Lumiere's/Tritons is overrated in my opinion. It is boring compared to the others regular rotation spots. It tries to be a fancy restaurant, although the carpet & decor reminds me of a truck stop choke n' puke. I would skip that one in lieu of Palo, where you can get a true fancy restaurant experience.

We loved Palo's - but if I was going on a three day - I would do as someone else suggested and go to the Brunch. It is amazing. Although we really enjoyed our dinner at Palo's and plan again to do it in November I would not want to give up the experience of dinning at one of the main rooms. Lumiere's is also very nice for lunch so. Some of the food we did not like - some we did but it was really the whole dining experience in the main rooms that we enjoyed.
