Question about Delta

Hi All,

I have a dingy question about checking in with Delta.


Can someone explain the new "online check in" thing they are using now. What exaclty does it do for me? We will be checking two bags, and carrying on two.

In the past we check our bags in with the people at the curb, and then just go to the gate. They normally check us in. Is it really that much of a difference?


Any help/information would be great. Sorry, I don't travel much.

I don't know about any specific issues with Delta, but with American you still need to check your bags with the Skycap or go to the counter. If the Skycaps also issue boarding passes, there's no real advantage to checking in online. I do online check in all the time when I just have carry on luggage, but don't bother if I'm checking.

The only reason why I had considered it is because Delta will give you 1,000 skymiles if you check-in online.
