Just a quick question about DDP. I think I have just sorted out my perfect Orlando holiday (with the help off you guys to thank again) we will be staying on site for 3 weeks and plan on visiting Universal's Islands of Adventure, Universal Studios, SeaWorld, Wet 'n Wild, bush Gardens, Aquatica, and discovery cove.

So my question is, is it worth it. We would be taking the Disney Dining Plan (the middle one)

Also what do you get and how does it work? Do most of the restrants accept it and what can you have off the menu.

Big big thank you.

First of all as you are visting so many other parks it might not be worth it unless you get it free as you may struggle to use your credits. The dining plan is only good value if you intend on eating only at Disney.

Your the Disney Dining Plan you will get one table service meal, one counter service meal and a snack per night of your stay.

The table service meal is an entree, dessert & soft drink (you would need to pay the tip still usually 15-20%). Counter service meal is a combo meal, dessert & soft drink. Snack is an ice-cream etc.

Most restaurants on property accept it - have a look at this years list brochure it has all the restaurants listed. There are very few items excluded from the dining plan so you can pretty much order whatever you want :thumbsup2

Also are you having a car? There are lots of good restaurants just off site that are much more reasonable priced! :thumbsup2

I would consider how many times you will be visiting the other theme parks (US,IOA,SW and BG) as you will probably not have the chance to use the DDP that day (unless you use a CS meal credit for breakfast at your hotel). And if you visit them more than once, it's more creadits to use up on the other days!!

At Wet'n'Wild and Aquatica, I guess you would still be able to use a credit for an evening meal. DC includes breakfast and lunch, so you may not feel up to a full-blown meal at night.

However, the flip side to this is that you could book some Signature Restaurant meals (at 2 Table Service Credits) so that you weren't having to force food down you to use up all of the credits.

It may be worth working out your total credits (21 Counter Service, 21 Table Service) and see how feasible your itinerary would be to let you use them all, especially if you are not on the free DDP offer.

I think if you enjoy a having a nicer table service meal(alot of the signature restaurants look wonderful IMO) then it is worth doing the upgrade and using the credits you dont use when at the other parks how it has been sugguested above. If your not fussed about table service then you may as well still just have the basic quick service plan as its free

IMO if you plan on visiting the other parks more than 50% of the time (possibly less) then you may struggle to use all the credits. One way around that could be some 2 credit meals but then there is the issue of buying more additional food than you may do otherwise.

Dave as some of the other posters have suggested,we visited all the other parks last year we used the extra credits to go to the signature restaurants. If you plan on eating in WDW alot then the DDP is worth it because their restaurants are a fair bit more expensive than eating off-site but if you're happy to go off-site,LBV is only a 5 min drive from the marketplace & there are plenty of restaurants worth eating at.

Sorry Dave just noticed that you are going for Sept,as Wayne says it is worth upgrading to the DDP (from QS plan) if that's what you are getting with your free dining. Regular DDP get's you 1 TS -anything on the menu, never found one exception-Entree & dessert, you cannot swap for a starter & a non-alcoholic drink. 1 CS including dessert & drink.1 snack - we used ours for fruit bowls, drinks, ice cream,cakes......
SD:thumbsup2
