Question about DCP roles at Disneyland

I can't decide what roles to choose for my top picks when I do my phone interview.
I already read the roles on the DCP website but still have some questions.
Can you pick full service restaurant at DLR?
Can you work at Starbucks in the parks?
For those who have done Photopass and Retail/Merchandise, how is it?
How about Custodial Busser? It doesn't seem too bad to me. I don't mind cleaning.
I appreciate any answers and help :)

1) The only way you can work in a full-service restaurant as a CP is if you are a food prep. Food preps are assigned to full-service restaurants only. I worked in Wine Country Trattoria and LOVED it. I learned so much, and really enjoyed being able to interact with fellow cast members all day, even though I sort of missed having much guest interaction. I was able to cross-train to be an order cook there, but unfortunately, you can't cross-train to be front-of-house. Something to do with changing your pay to a lower rate, since front-of-house people (hosts, you can't be in a tipped role like server) get paid less than food preps. I was able to cross-train to order cook because that's a higher pay. (I don't know why they won't let you, since I was willing to take the pay cut.)
2) Yes, if you are assigned QSFB, you can work in the Starbucks on Buena Vista Street.
3) I've never done either, but Photopass can work in both parks and seem to have a lot of fun with it. I've heard good things about retail too, but you can get pretty crazy shifts because they have to stock late at night/early in the morning.
4) As a custodial busser, you'll be at one of the quick service locations. I think you basically wipe down tables, clear trays, stock the napkins/cuttlery/condiments etc, and deal with the trash.

Thank you very much for replying!
I'm trying to get a job at Starbucks right now so it would be cool if I could just transfer over there in the Fall. Ill have to ask during the phone interview. It would also be cool if I could be a host at a full service :( oh well. Thank you again!

Given the way that most Starbucks are owned/managed, I doubt you could directly transfer over to the California Adventure Starbucks. Think of it as you trying to transfer from a B&N Starbucks to a Target Starbucks. Both are managed by two entirely different entities.

In the end, the Starbucks knowledge and experience will most definitely help if you try to apply for the California Adventure location.

Have a Magical Day! :smickey:

yeah, I totally agree with you. Transfer may have been the wrong word for me to use. I meant to say maybe there would be a higher chance of being able to work there, if I already have the experience for the job.
Thanks for replying too :)

Right, having that knowledge will be helpful, but you won't be able to transfer. It's Starbucks drinks at Fiddler, Fifer and Practical. All regular Disney cast members, not outside Starbucks workers.
