question about costumes for mnsshp...

hi all =] quick question reguarding costumes for mnsshp. my dd(4) has been VERY clear that she wants to be jasmine this year, so i thought it would be cute to dress my little guy (8 months...well, 10 months when we are there) up as abu. but, my oldest (ds 8) is apparently way too cool for a disney costume this year =[ he wants to be snake eyes for gi joe lol. so, my question is do people do that or does EVERYBODY dress up in a disney themed costume?? i don't want him to feel out of place if he is the only one?? it would have been so cute if he would go along with the aladdin theme..why do they have to grow up and make their own choices =[

People dress up in all kinds of costumes, not just Disney...a lot don't dress up at all, so whatever you end up wearing, you will all fit in! keep in mind to be comfortable, as chances are the weather will still be quite warm, even at night!

thanks! i know i keep trying to remind myself that it will most likely be pretty warm still. here in NY it is already pretty chilly in October so the costumes tend to be pretty heavy. but i'm glad he can be whatever he wants =]

Hi Neighbor in NY!!
...we have been to a few MNSSHP and Im warning u it is HOT HOT sweltering sweaty HOT,,,,just so ya know!!! We will be there for two parties this yr again and cant wait.
PPL wear all diff costumes, many non disney related, so like the above poster said, u will fit right in, but just a FYI, its HOT at 9pm even!! LOL

people where all kinds of non-Disney costumes. Do not wear anything heavy or too form fitting since it does get very hot at night. My kids face make-up even ran the night we went. We were there about the same time as you for our 1st MNSSHP. Coming from NE we though we could handle the heat but it is the muggy that kills you since it is Hurricane season the air can be very thick and the rainstorms come fast.

The one group of costumes that you might want to avoid are those that are associated with the attractions at Universal Parks (Hulk, Spiderman, MIB, Simpsons, etc.). The CM's will tend to gently tease a bit about those.
