Question about checkout day.

Our flight home leaves rather late. We will not have to leave for airport until 7:30 or so.

When I called about late checkout, they told me 1:00 p was complimentry, and later would be 1/2 rack rate. I was going to ask how late later could be, but the girl on the phone was having trouble understanding my question, and she herself was very difficult to understand on the phone. I don't mind paying 1/2 the rack rate, if we can have the room till closer to time to go. However, we are leaving on Sat. of Columbus day weekend, and that might not even be an option.

So anyway-- We want to go to the parks on our last day. We have left the day open. Is there somewhere that we can freshen up and possibly change clothes before heading back to Ohio. (We don't want to get back in shorts, and t-shirts at 12:15 am).

I thought about having different clothes ready with our checked luggage, and going somewhere (maybe the main pool area), and cleaning up a bit. Will we be able to use the facilities once we've checked out?

Has anybody done this? I just can't imagine flying home feeling grubby from an almost full day at the parks.

We will be staying at CBR. If I understand right the main pool area is a ways from check-in. Will we be able to get some of our things out?

Other have posted 50% (might be the rate you're paying not rack rate) gets you a 5:00p check out. Most people want a free extension, call the night before, should have a good shot

Yes you can use the pool on checkout day. Perhaps you could pack a small bag with your change of clothes and keep it in a locker at the park if you don't pay for the extra 1/2 day.

What we always do is pack our carry on with a change of clothes and a plastic bag. check out at the regular time. they will hold your luggage for you. spend the day at the pool. There is always a fresh h2o shower and a rest room or lounge to change. have a wonderful trip and save the $ on the room for just a few hours. good luck

We just returned from the CBR today. There is a locker/restroom just behind the pool area. There are also bathrooms just inside the entrance to OPR. Plenty for you to do in OPR - food, arcade, shopping, sit at the outside tables near the Banana Cabana, sit in a lounger by the pool or swim. You can walk to the little island Parrot Cay (is that the right name?) and look at all the plants and flowers. There are benches tucked away on little side paths on the island for peace & quiet. It's very tropical.

I agree with bubbles - pack a small "pool" bag with your suits and sunscreen. They have towels at the pool. Anything else (pool toys?) is for sale. For a price of course! Goggles were $11 a pair at OPR. I bought my kids a pack of 3 for $9 at Target before we left!
