We live in SC and would like to drive down to HH someday to check it out. We won't be staying overnight just a day trip to see what the resort is like (not to use the amenities or anything). Is this allowed? Is it gated like other Disney resorts? Can we tell them that we are DVC owners who just want to look around at the resort? TIA!

HH is not only gated - but on its own island.

some members have reported been sold no.

so I would definitely call first. if you get told yes - write down the name of the person who told you yes.

they use to allow this - but since they quit selling - I guess they are only allowing DVC members who are staying there to come inside.

We've been several times when visiting HH to get a little taste of Disney but have never stayed. When you pull up to the gate you talk via a speaker to some person. I've always told them I'm a DVC member and just want to look around. They have always seemed very excited to have a visitor... They don't require you to check-in or anything so we just wander around and walk out on the pier...

My parents were in HHI last fall and they stopped by the Disney resort. The staff was openly welcoming. The front desk CMs gave them an entire check-in packet (maps, activity guide, folder, etc.) and said they were welcome to look around the resort and snap a some photos.

You can also simply park in the lot for Shelter Cove shopping and walk over. It's a pleasant walk, past the marina, and there's nothing to stop pedestrians from entering the resort.

While members have been reported to have been denied on a couple of occasions, it's rare. I've been to DVC HH a number of times when not staying there. As noted, if you get denied, you can always park and walk over, it's maybe 200 yards depending on where you get to park. Enjoy.

I just wanted to say :wave2: To another SC DVC member!

Hello to all the new SC DVC members! Good to know about HHI.

but since so many are saying there is not a problem - try that one first.

then definitely walk.

thanks Susie forgot how close the mall was.
