Question about charging to the room...

I apologize in advance again if this has been answered 100x already, as we are staying in the park for the first time in many years.

SO - I know that you can link your KTTW card to a credit card to bill to your room. My question is - as you charge things, are they automatically charged to your actual card, or do you settle out at the end of your stay? I had a recent birthday and recieved a few Disney cards for our trip that I'm planning on using for expenses, I didnt know if I could just pay the balance with those at the end of the week - or if I should just carry them and use them etc. I'm trying to simplify and carry as little as possible. Thanks!

The charges accumulate throughout your stay and you settle them all at once upon check out.

You will get a statement on your door the night before checkout which will have all of your charges. If you agree with the charges and wish to pay for them with the credit card you have on file, you need not physically check out the next morning, it will be done automatically.

If you wish to pay for the charges using an alternate method (cash, gift cards, etc) you can go to the front desk at check out and do so.

Great, thanks so much! That's what I was hoping. I'd like to be able to just carry my KTTW card and a $20 bill and keep the rest in the hotel safe. I'm always afraid I'll lose something, because I tend to!

Not always. There is a limit to the charges ($500 value, $1000 mod, $1500 deluxe) and if you reach that limit your credit card will be charged. The limit will be reset and it will start over. You are informed if you reach the limit and I think you need to go to the desk at that time.

If you don't reach the limit during your stay, then whatever you accumulate will be charged to your card the night before you check out. If you want to use gift cards, etc to settle your account you'll need to do it the day before you check out.

Thanks! I'm not planning on charging too much - but that can always change! Maybe I'll just carry the disney cards with us and use them in the parks for the most part. Or bring one each day until it's used up.
