My husband will need an ECV for in the parks only. Should we just rent one when inside the parks or from an outside company? How difficult are they to stow and remove from the back of a minivan (we will also be carrying a double stroller)? We tend to think it will be easier to just pick one up at the parks, but it might get expensive. What should we do?

Well, as you won't be able to remove the Disney ECV from the parks and there's a lot of non-park acreage to negotiate, you could find that having one all the time very useful, and, as you say, it could get expensive renting day by day. Go with the flow and rent one from an off-site vendor is my vote. The vendor will show you how to dismantle it....Free private lessons...

From the handicapped parking area, to the TTC, up the ramp or to the boat, potentially standing on the boat, waiting in line through the turnstiles, in line at the ECV counter could potentially be a mile of walking, and that is just to get INTO magic kingdom. And repeat that at the end of the day.

Almost the same thing happens at AK, which also has a LONG walk from the parking area.

I would rent one off-site, especially since they DO run out in the parks. If you are there at a popular time, you should get there at rope drop and get the ECV first thing. if you park-hop or go back to the hotel for a nap, there is NO guarantee that there will be an ECV later in the day. They will not hold one for you (though you do not have to pay twice).

I vote for off-site.

I've looked at walker mobility. My most important question now is: Does the scooter fit in the back of a minivan if I am using all three rows of seats? We have twins and a six year old, so we use all three rows of seating. Can we get the stroller in too or am I going to need a bigger car (ie full size SUV)? Please respond!!!

I know the scooter would fit in the back, but I'm not sure about with the stroller too. Is there a way to put the stroller in between seats? If there is, then it would work.

I would also recommend getting a scooter off-site that is considered a travel scooter. This would make things a little easier, since they are a little bit smaller and meant to break down into smaller pieces.
