Question About Cancelled Reservations

I had a resort reservation at POR from 10/19-10/29 that was just about paid off. Like many others I was hoping to apply FD to that but last night when I logged on to the website after FD had been announced, I saw how limited availability for mod rooms actually was and felt there would be little chance for FD for my existing reservations. Not being set on any one resort, I decided to rebook everything with FD at CSR.

Today, I called to cancel my original POR reservation and the CM told me that rather than cancel it right then he would send over "a form" to have their acct dept apply my already made payments for POR to my new reservation at CSR. I was hesitant but I let him do it rather than just have him refund the amount and then me just use it later to pay off the CSR reservation.

Has anyone else ever done this? I just logged on to my reservations and the only one that is showing is CSR - no POR so I assumed that's been cancelled but the balance on CSR is still the same - no payments have been applied aside from my $200 deposit. I just want to know if I should be on the lookout for a refund or if it actually will be applied to my CSR balance. These CMs aren't the most reliable source of information so I was hoping someone here could help. It makes me a little nervous that I have a few thousand dollars just kind of "hanging out" there in space.

I did the same thing today. They said they were going to fill out the form and send the funds from one reservation to the other. I made it clear to the guy that under no circumstance did I want my money refunded as it was paid for with multiple cards and it would be a nightmare remaking the payments.

He told me that my original reservation would not be cancelled until all of the funds had been transferred. When I log into MDE it still shows both reservations for me with a balance that I owed on the first reservation and the full balance minus the $200 deposit on the 2nd reservation. Not sure why your first one isn't showing up. Maybe they transferred yours quickly and the money takes a day or something to show up on the new reservation? Wish I could be more help, but first timer here too.

I'm having the same issue. Did your balance ever get applied? Or did you have to call?

I cancelled my 1st reservation and the CM said they would transfer the $200 deposit to my new one. Two weeks later the money still has not been applied to my new reservation but it looks like the first one was definitely canceled.

Lots of people do this. It can take 7-10 business days for the transfer and you'll get an email when it's been applied to the.
