Question about cancellations.

Hi All,

I may have to cancel my trip to the Food and Wine Festival this year . The Canadian dollar is sucking the life out of my vacations. I've been struggling to find a way to just reduce costs, but it isn't easy any more.

I've been on the member website and found that since the points were current use year, I can cancel more than 31 days out and still have the points put back into my current use year. It doesn't say if I can bank those points. If I decide to cancel, I would need to be banking, since there's no way I'm cancelling a F&W reservation and then booking at some other time during this use year.

Can I bank those points?

Yes, as long as you are within the normal banking window. (more than 4 months before your next UY)

Banking is based on your UY, so you can still bank them as long as you are still within the first 8 months. To know for sure, if you share your UY, then we can help even further.

I have a Dec UY, so the points I used for my F & W trip are bankable until July 31st, which is much more than 31 days prior to my October trip. If I have to cancel, I would have to do it by July 31st in order to bank my points.
