Question about buying Under Armour shirts

I bought my husband some Under Armor shirts for our trip this fall. The tag says that you shouldn't use fabric softener when washing...does this include dryer sheets? It's probably a dumb question, but I think of those and fabric softener for a washer differently. The budget part...if I ruin them I have to buy new ones, and they aren't on sale anymore!!!

I found this while googling. There are several questions answered along those lines.

Sounds like rewashing it (maybe a few times) should get the fabric softener out. Don't use either, it says it coats the fabric making it not work in the advertised manner.


Good question, I don't use the fabric softener with it, never questioned why. Now I know. Cool.

Great, thanks for the response I kept thinking it was a stupid question...it's still fabric softner, but I just couldn't decide for sure!

This is not quite on topic but since you can just squirt a bit of liquid fabric softener on a clean cloth and throw it in the dryer as a dryer sheet alternative they are the same thing.

Also, did ya know that you can cut a fabric softener sheet in half and it is as effective?

We always wash underarmour and mesh of all kinds on delicate in cold water.... no fabric softener. We also hang to dry - much easier on the clothing!
