Question about Annual Passes...

If I were to buy an annual pass over the Disney website, will I be allowed to reserve rooms at the AP discount right away?

And, if I purchase this annual pass, say, in January, but I do not get to the park until September of next year, is the pass going to expire a year after it was purchased (Jan '07), or a year after it was was first used in the parks or "activated" (Sep 07)?

I'm just trying to figure out the planning of next year's vacation and would like to utilize an annual pass to it's full extent by scheduling our yearly vacations one week earlier within the use of the AP. Does that make sense??

If you reserve your room over the phone, you do not need to provide the AP code number on the back of the card. Therefore you do not need to receive the AP before reserving your room by phone. However, if you wish to reserve over the internet, you need to go the AP section of Disney's site to do so. This will require the code. If you reserve over the internet, you need to book 120 days in advance and provide a non-refundable one night deposit. The AP will expire one year from activation. If you do not use it until September, it will expire the following September.

Though I have not tried I have heard people on this board say that they were able to acess the passholder website with numbers that are provided on the voucher. You can also buy ap's from your local disney store if you have them.
