Question about AKL change 2 bedroom to 1 bedroom

Hi All,

Question about booking a 2 bedroom lockoff at AKL. If part of your party can not go, and your hoping to switch the reservation from a 2 bedroom lockoff to a studio or 1 bedroom. Will they let you do it?

I have a sick parent, and am hoping they will be able come, w/ us to disney. However I'm not sure if mom's health will be good enough to travel, but am hopeful.

Only if there is a 1 bedroom available. If there is a waitlist, you will not be able to do it, you would have to add your name to the bottom of the waitlist for a 1 bedroom.

If you change it 30 days or less, the extra points would go into a holding account.

You would actually be cancelling the 2BR reservation and making a new reservation for the 1BR or Studio. As long as there is availability for the other room type, you'll be fine - but I'd make sure there is availability before letting MS cancel your 2BR since it could be lost to the waitlist otherwise. In this case you don't really have a reservation for a 1BR and a Studio - it is for a 2BR villa.

If you have enough points you could book both and cancel the one you do not need.
