I've read it's best to go to the safari first thing in the morning...but many people have advised just to get a FP and go see the Lion King instead? Do you still see active animals?

Sorry I guess Im used to going to the zoo and looking in the pen and not seeing animals only to realize they are sleeping in the back or something.

It depends on the temperature. The warmer it is, the less active the animals will be.

We always do a few things before going to KS (usually FOTLK and/or the Boneyard). Then, we'll get a fastpass for KS and take the train to Rafiki's Planet Watch for a quick visit with "the Disney goats," as DS refers to them, while waiting for our KS fastpass time. :teeth:

We have always seen active animals on the safari, so I really wouldn't worry about getting there first thing. I would try to get it in before lunch though.

Have a great trip!

We always go on the safari ride first thing in the morning.

I have only been once but we did go first thing. We saw lots and lots of animals and it was great! It may depend on the time of year though. It was kind of cool in the mornings while we were there.

:cool1:

We get to AK when it opens and walk to the safari to get a FP. The Tusker House is close by, so we get coffee and a pastry and then go to the safari for a walk on ride.

I don't thinkt he first FOTLK show is until 9/9:30 anyway? and the safari is open right at 8.

if you want, get a FP, do the forest walk located at the exit of the Safari ride, then walk onto the safari.

honestly - the line really moves first thing in the morning...even though everyone is heading there first...they do have a ton of trucks running

It was so crowded when we got there that we got FP for noonish---didn't think we'd see any animals as the day was warm, but there were plenty up and about. My son was completely wowed by them all.
