quest is stuck

I have been trying to do tonight quest and it is stuck on trask 11, play a song at the music mix game.

1) I have played my song about 10 times and it won't advance
2) I have said "play a song at the music mix game" and it won't advance
3) have mixed a song and it won't advance
4) I have left the room and returned and it won't advance
5) I have quit the quest and restarted it
6) I tried to get into Hula's room to talk to her about it and after about an hour in the queue I quit becuase I have other things to do in life.

This had happened to me before, I had already played my song that hour and gotten credits, so when I tried it again, it wouldn't "take". Maybe this is what happened to you?
I just returned like a half hour later to the quest and tried again, and that time it worked.

vmk just crashed maybe there is a bug

This happened to me last week, and I restarted VMK and then it was working just fine.

I noticed that you also have to say the food items in order, or they won't take them. I didn't have any trouble with tonight's quest. Hula also wished me good luck when I left her room.
