Folks,

I know it's ridiculous posting a thread on the DisBoard given that it may be likely that power may not be available in your area....

For our Queensland friends. I hope you and your loved ones are safe and dry.

I made a very rushed decision to get out of Brisbane and was able to
get a flight to Melbourne with the kids. According to the flood map
the 74 floods came very close to our driveway. Very scary.

I hope everyone else in Qld stays safe.

Apologies for the typing. Am using my phone.

We are a 20 minute drive out of Brisbane CBD but have some low lying flooded areas just ten minutes away. We are lucky we are on a hill but I guess Toowoomba residents thought they were safe living on the top of the range too. It is so surreal to see this happening so close to home and seeing the devastation plus already no supplies in our own supermarkets.

Thanks to you all for caring :lovestruc Can always count on my disfriends :flower3:

sending our prayers & best wishes from regional WA as well (cannot even imagine that kind of water & devastation - although much further up in Carnarvon, they are in trouble as well.

:grouphug: I hope that everyone is alright and that your families and homes are safe.

It is so difficult to believe that something like this could happen. The images on the news are so devastating.

Be safe

Thanks to everyone! It is devastating. Luckily I am in a high suburb and have no problems at all. I remember the '74 floods here, and it seems to be just as bad. I almost have a feeling of guilt because I am not affected at all, but there is devastation not 15 minutes away from me. I can still get my cofee, go shopping, watch telly etc, whilst some people don't have a house! It will take a long time to recover, but recover we will!
Thanks again for all the good thoughts and prayers.

Such a terrible thing to be happening. We're safe and sound feeling very lucky to be in one of the dry suburbs. My thoughts are with those who are effected.

I am astonished by the scope of the floods and my thoughts are with all Qlders - and now northern NSW and even country Victoria.
Stay safe and best wishes for a speedy clean up:goodvibes

Had a very scary drive home in Toowoomba a 20 minute trip took 5 hours.

All safe and sound though. The devastation at the bottom of our big hill is just heartbreaking. It makes you hug your kids a little tighter and makes you remember the important things in life.

A family and wonderful friends is lifes greatest gift. For those who have had this taken from them by heart just breaks.

Thank you to Aussie Dis Boarders for thinking of us, keep these families in your hearts and minds over the coming years as they try to rebuild from utter devastation.
