Wednesday and our first day at Universal Studios. Breakfast is had at Dunkin' Donuts before heading up the I4 to the park, ending up in the "Jaws" parking lot.

We choose to begin our day in Universal itself and head straight around to Teminator 2: 3D, one of Scott's favourite attractions in the whole of Florida. We head over to Woody Woodpecker's Kidzone next and do the E.T. Adventure, Scott's not too keen on this one but I think it's sweet. On exiting we notice the line for the Nuthouse Coaster is very short so decide to try it out as we like the Barnstormer at MK - it's pretty good for a kiddy coaster and goes quite high up on the initial climb, a bit too high for Scott really! We follow the lake around to World Expo where I take a ride on Back to the Future, Scott chooses to sit this one out as motion control's make him feel sick. The queue is ok and I get bumped up a few times for being a single rider as the operators feel sorry for me! Next up is a favourite of mine, Men in Black, even though I'm more of a Disney fan than Universal, I think this is far superior to Buzz Lightyear - there's just so much more to see and do and it's so funny! I think we took two rides on this whilst our bags were in the lockers - going through single riders to cut down on time as we didin't really feel it necessary to sit together, we ended up in the same car first time anyway!

For lunch we wandered over to San Francisco (as you do) and Richter's Burger Co.

The fries here are some of the best in Florida but the burger isn't really that great. I manage to tear myself away from the adjoining sweet shop without making a purchase and we hit Earthquake (which has a very long queue for some reason) and Twister which I love as it's one of my favourite movies - even if it is a bit naff, too much build up, not enough show! We're now at New York and The Revenge of the Mummy. I'm really unsure about this as I'm not much of a coaster person. Scott's really excited about this so he goes off to ride it whilst I head to Jimmy Neutron. Scott hates thisd as it makes him feel ill but I love it, Spongebob Squarepants AND a silly dance - what more could you want??

Once I'm done I head back to The Mummy and loiter in the gift shop watching the screens until I see Scott, he doesn't look *that* scared - maybe this will be ok? When he appears I find out that was actually his 3rd ride - the single riders queue was so short! I'm still really nervous about doing this but I love The Mummy films and really want to so we join the regular queue. We're in for about 15 minutes which gives us chance to look at all the details but not spend so long as to get bored of it. Scott (quietly) explains what happens in the ride so I'll know what's about to happen. The best part of the queue is the enormous statue of Anubis near the end but it does make me rather wary as I'm quite religious and not sure that using a figure like that in a theme park ride is the best idea. By the time we reach the ride vehicles I've almost talked myself out of riding but I somehow convince myself to go for it and we get into the centre. Scott talks me through the ride and I constantly shake until the high speed launch. I've never done anything so frightening in my whole life but it was also one of the most fun few minutes ever, I laughed whilst hysterically from the launch until the end. When we got off we went straight back around to do it again so I could properly enjoy it all without being scared to death! To chill out after our exhilaration we head to Shrek 4D. I really didn't like this last year, no idea why, but it's better this time around - still not too keen though. I'm still a little shakey so we decide to sit down and have something to eat at the Beverley Hills Boulangerie. We decide on a slice of very indulgent chocolate cheesecake each, naughty but oh so nice!

I'm feeling like death's door by now with my cold, it's just getting worse by the minute, but I soldier on refusing to waste days and we head to Islands of Adventure. We go to Seuss Landing first and ride the Cat in the Hat - another fo Scott's favourites. It's almost closing time when we come off so we race to Marvel Super Hero Island to squeeze in a ride on Spiderman, just make it! When we finish the ride it's straight off and back to the car and the park is shutting around us. I'm really going downhill and can't face eating out so we head to Summer Bay via Walgreen's where I get some cold and flu capsules, I also clamber over a verge to a neighbouring Wendy's (walking "next door" in the USA isn't easy - they expect you to drive everywhere) and grab some chips as I'm starting to feel cold. Last time I ate at Wendy's I was 14 and in NYC with school - it was disgusting - but these were really nice.

We arrive back at Summer Bay and I try and relax a bit to let the pills start working. I can't face eating out so we drive next door to Publix and have a looka round, there's nothing I fancy except an Oreo Creme Pie which finds its way out with us. Instead we go to Papa John's and get a Pepperoni Pizza with chicken strips to eat at the apartment. It's quite nice but I've basically lost my sense of taste!!

Since we picked up our hire car, Scott had been noticing a problem with the steering. The steering wheel had been vibrating and it was getting stronger and stronger, by now I could actually see his hands shaking as we drove down the roads. After a discussion about it with his dad, it's decided that it's just too risky to keep the car going with a potential problem as we're in a foreign country so we decide to take a day out and take it back to Dollar the next day. We're not sure if we can go just anywhere so we choose to head back to Sanford Airport. Even though it's quite early I decide to head up to bed and get an early night, let the pills do their work unhampered so I might feel better the next day as it's finally time for MNSSHP!

Excellent day ~ Hope you felt better Sophie :)

You sounded as bad as Gavin was before his ride on the Mummy!

Well done for going on The Mummy! sorry to hear you felt poorly, not nice on holiday!

Sorry to hear that you weren't well, Sophie, but you battled on admirably. I haven't been on the Mummy yet because I am scared of coasters too. I hope I will be brave enough one day. I am also scared that someone will jump out at me in the queue or on the ride (not sure how likely this is) and that I will swear very loudly as a knee jerk reaction!
