This morning were up, showered and dressed before weve even heard the slightest stirring from Linda & Grahams room. We leave one of our mobiles on the dining table along with a note saying where well be and to call if theyd like to meet up.
We head on over to the Ponderosa for breakfast. I decide to go nuts and have pancakes with syrup, toast, sausages, mini chocolate muffins, cookies and finally, ice cream with chocolate sauce and chocolate chips. Well, when in Rome! Once were suitably stuffed we head on up to the Mall at Millennia where Scott drops me off nearby at a scrapbooking shop I spotted the other day. He goes up to the mall to look around a music/DVD shop whilst I spend plenty of hard earned (ok maybe not) cash! The store is jam packed with wonderful stuff and I end up with some beautiful bits including epoxy bottle top stickers of Disney park phrases and a great bargain a Making Memories metal plaque for $1, the shell design on it is an almost perfect replica of Summer Bays logo!
Scrapping Stash
We drive to the Florida Mall for the first time this trip and I take a look at the Halloween costumes but dont find anything I like. Lunch is taken at Chick-Fil-A in the food court where we get the waffle fries and chicken strips. Not my favourite eatery but its growing on me. After weve eaten, Linda & Graham call to arrange a meet up. We agree to meet at Golden Corral at 7.30pm for dinner. We have another quick look around but dont buy anything before driving to the West Side & DisneyQuest.
Neither of us have ever visited DisneyQuest before so were not sure what to expect. We create a coaster on CyberSpace Mountain its a level one, how tame can you get?!?! We take a ride on Buzz Lightyears Astroblasters - wish we hadnt wasted our time, rode the virtual Jungle Cruise same thing applies and then fight some villains in a virtual reality game. Whilst the game was ok, the virtual reality helmets are so heavy we both found them uncomfortable to the point of being painful; my neck ached for several hours afterwards. The best thing we found (how sad is this) were the various pinball machines tucked away in a corner. This seemed to be parents central with quite a few more old fashioned and less high tech games. The cheesecake factory looked great but as we had dining reservations we had to give it a miss. We doubt well be visiting DisneyQuest again soon, whilst its probably fantastic if youve got a 7yr old boy and its a horrible day, theres just too many better things I could spend my time doing.
By now its time to head to Golden Corral. When we get there we cant find Linda & Graham anywhere. They call us to ask where we are, in the entrance way, so are we. Turns out theyre at a different entrance on the other side of the building! I have a wonderful steak with steak cut chips (a rarity at GC) and a lovely chocolate cake. When weve done we all head back to Summer Bay, Linda & Graham going via Publix to pick up a few basic supplies were running low on. Me and Scott go out to the mini golf course on site. I havent played in years so Im a bit worried; however I end up winning by a single point! Scott calls a rematch for another night as by now its getting late. We all end up back at the apartment together and crash out!
