This morning I have to be sneaky as I need to get a call made to the Cake Hotline without Scott realising. Fate helps me out by giving me an achy leg and a cunning scheme so I ask him if he’d go and pick up my breakfast from Roaring Forks so I can give my leg a rest. He mutters something and heads off to get my chocolate croissant and OJ. As soon as he’s gone I race to the phone and call them, speaking as quickly as possible. The cake is ordered for the following week and I leap back into bed just a few minutes before Scott returns bearing food.

This morning we decide to head to DHS so we drive over after finishing our breakfasts. First we have a wander around the park which is eerily quiet.

Then we grab some fastpasses for Toy Story Mania and I get my picture under the Singing in the Rain umbrella as I’ve never spotted it before.

And of course, what true nerd can resist the temptation?

We start our photopass card off with pics of us with Lightning McQueen and Tow Mater.

Then we head off to do Muppet Vision 3D, an all time favourite. Once we’ve ridden we check out the gift shop in great detail and I snap some pics of all the stuff that you miss so easily whilst browsing.

Next up is the Great Movie ride which I’m pretty much only riding to photograph as it’s dark but slow moving so gives me ample scope for practice.

Our fastpass time rolls around and we finally experience the new Toy Story ride which we both love instantly.

It’s time for some lunch, which we get at the Backlot Express before heading back to the car and driving over to EPCOT.

We have dinner reservations at Coral Reef tonight so we don’t plan to leave Futureworld, no problem for us as we can easily be entertained around here so we head to the Living Seas.

First up is a ride with Nemo followed by a tour around the pavilion to see all the fish and meet some rather unsavoury characters.

Then we decide to try out the new Spaceship Earth as it was down for rehab when we last visited. We absolutely love it, especially the in car videos at the end of the ride, I also like that they’ve added in the moon landing on TV.

After riding we send an e-postcard home to our families which they all very much enjoyed receiving!

We decide to spend some time browsing the Art of Disney, never mind that pretty much everything is way out of our price range, the artwork is wonderful and I consider visiting somewhat akin to a themed art gallery. There are some stunning pieces as usual but as we haven’t won the lottery lately, we leave empty handed.

It’s coming up to our ADR time so we make our way over to the Coral Reef and get checked in, taking some pics of the golf ball en route.

We don’t have too long a wait before our coaster buzzes and we are seated about halfway back from the aquarium with a good view.

Unlike last year we’re not on the Dining Plan so we have to be a little more cautious when ordering as we have to consider prices this time. Both of us order New York Strips, I ask for mash with mine as I don’t fancy roast potatoes which is sorted by our waiter with no fuss at all. Both steaks come out exactly as we ordered and are delicious, if not quite up to the level of some other steakhouses. For dessert we decide to share The Wave and it’s spectacular as it was last year.

We exit just about ten past nine and spot the last few fireworks going up from Illuminations. As we’re only near the Coral reef, we stay ahead of the rush to exit the park. Listening carefully we can here our 1st dance song being pumped through the park and it’s wonderful to hear it again as we walk over the dancing pavement lights out to the car.

We drive back to the Lodge for our last night there. We drop our stuff off at the villa and grab our mugs which we fill up at Roaring Forks before it closes; Scott makes a mug of tea. We spend a while sitting in the lobby people watching and taking photos.

I go for a stroll around the pool area while Scott sits with the drinks and end up getting sprayed by a freezing cold geyser that erupts next to me in the darkness.

When I get back we have a small spending spree at the Lodge gift shop, I get some pins, a wedding theme photo frame, and we also buy a print drawing of the Animal Kingdom. It’s been a long day and I want to be up at a good hour so I can go swimming in the big pool before we check out so we stroll back to the villa, taking some last pics en route before getting some much needed shut eye.

As good trip reports do, your happy memories call back many of mine. Your photo of the late night Wilderness Lodge lobby makes me smile. Thanks.
