Day 3 and we’re going to Disney for the 1st time this trip!! We’re up and showered early and off to Dunkin’ Donuts for breakfast, yum!

I get a chocolate glazed and a double choc, Scott gets marble glazed and another I didn’t write down, d’oh! We have a quick browse around the gift shop before saying good bye to Linda and Graham who are going to MGM today. We drive over to the Magic kingdom and get the ferry across the lake to the Kingdom, spotting the castle again makes me the happiest I’ve been for almost exactly 1 year!! After getting our tickets signed and learning the new finger scanning booths are very simple to use, we walk up Main St and have a good look at the castle’s new decorations which look wonderful.

We decide to head into Adventureland first and we take in the Tiki Room, Jungle Cruise, Pirates of the Caribbean, Big Thunder, Haunted Mansion (yay – my fave), Small World and the Barnstormer before lunch! We grab lunch at Cosmic Ray’s – possible my favourite place to eat in the Kingdom, I love it there. Scott gets the fried chicken fingers with fries, coke and a brownie; I get a plain burger, fries and a coke.) We sit on the balcony to eat and discuss the day so far as I’ve already done 3 new rides (I didn’t get to do Tiki, Jungle or IASW last year.) After lunch we head around to Philharmagic to do a sedate attraction whilst digesting, then its back to the rides with Buzz Lightyear and Stitch’s Great Escape (we really weren’t impressed with this.) Scott wanted to do Space Mountain next but I really didn’t feel up to it so we split up, he headed over to the mountain and I took a more sedate ride on the TTA which did me the courtesy of breaking down twice making me late to meet Scott! We finally found one another again and decided to fastpass Winnie the Pooh and do a quick loop of the park on the railroad from Toontown. Once we’re back in Toontown our passes are ready so we hop aboard Winnie then head over to Frontierland for 2 rides on Big Thunder before the park closed (7pm closing for MNSSHP that night.) We head out of the park, getting our photos taken in front of the castle en route. We also stopped off at the Main St bakery but decided against getting anything.

We drove over to the West Side and had a look around the Virgin Megastore before heading over to the Marketplace. We mooched around the Magical World of Memories, World of Disney and homewares stores. I didn’t get anything but Scott picked up a model of the Buzz Lightyear ride car to match his Doombuggy from last year. We jump back into the car and head to Golden Corral, my favourite all-you-can-eat place. I have steak, shrimp, fries, bread, croutons, jelly and gummy bears but the chicken is awful tonight. We carefully wrap a slice of carrot cake in a napkin to take home before heading back to Summer Bay and catching up with Linda and Graham. Before bed we turn the TV on and catch a couple of episodes of Family Guy (including one from the new series) and an episode of American Dad.

Sounds great. Thanks for your report.
