Queen, Jasmine and a Disney Virgin...will he love it like we do?

Hi! Made my way to post 243! I wanted to comment now before I forget b/c I have to get the kiddos in bed. I loved the pics at Camp Minnie and Mickey's! What was the show you were talking about? I think it is great that Goofy was trying to win over Jasmine for so long. I love Disney magic and am so psyched it happens at any age!! You take such great photos and have awesome photo ideas. I will be taking pix in interesting gift shops from now on! Thanks for the fun TR. I will be back tomorrow.

Wow, you're moving right along!! Festival of the Lion King, it's our favorite, mine in particular. I lucked in a couple of trips ago and found the CD for it at the Emporium in MK...I have it in the car and whenever I need a little Disney magic, I pop it in!! I agree, a lot of times the older kiddies are left out or get a small amount of time, Goofy made my day, he was so funny!!

Hope you're having a great weekend....we are unfortunately in for a weekend of thunderstorms and at the current moment it's a bad one....great excuse for being home and on the boards!!!:lmao:

Yay! I am all caught up! Wow! What a beautiful dress and Jasmine looks AMAZING!!! I love that the two kids look so happy all the time. You make having teenagers look easy! I am sorry to hear that you cx your September trip. I must have missed a post where you let us know, but I saw two other posts that said it. You were so great to do this for Aladdin and I am certain he will never forget it!

Ahhh thanks, I love that dress and I agree I think she looks great in it! I have to admit they are pretty happy kids, as a matter of fact, we were discussing our trip next year and when would be the best time to go. Aladdin will be in college from Sep 2010 to June 2011 so now were seriously considering end of Aug beginning of Sep....

I say go for it.

What college will he be attending that goes until June?

I say go for it.

What college will he be attending that goes until June?

Winnipeg Technical College, runs the same time as the schools here. He tried to get into Red River Community College but it was a 3 year wait for the electrician's course, so Wpg Tech offered a similar one that he would apprentice for 3 years after so he jumped at that. He was concerned that he may not go back if he waited 3 years...you know how it gets once you start making money, it's hard to switch back.

Jasmine still hasn't decided what she wants to do, she's thinking business, so I suggested she apply at the bank and see what she thought. That seems to be the plan now!!

Hopefully Peg's family will go the same time as us, we do loving having our vacations together!!!

Hi, I wasn't lurking, I just came across your TR this morning and had to read it-so interested to see a TR from another Pegger. I blew through the whole thing today and really enjoyed it. You have lots of pictures from places we've never gone at DW, so now we have some new ideas for our next trip!

I am so happy that you enjoyed the report! When we went last Aug we had a Dis-meet with DisneyBrat who is also from Winnipeg and her family....such fun we had! I laugh now because we made a point of meeting up in Disneyworld, but have yet to set a date to meet for lunch here!!

Glad you got some new ideas!!

It's time I got this TR wrapped up...I've been putting it off because I don't have another trip planned for this year, but enough is enough....time to call it a day. \

We returned to the hotel to have a rest before heading back to MK for a little bit before heading over to Whispering Canyon Cafe for dinner. Now I have a confession to make, I made a fatal error as a Disney veteran and to this day I have no idea where the heck my head was. On this trip I did not add on the park hopper option as I didn't think we needed it. What I did do was added on more days to our 5 day passes that I bought before we left home....do you see where this is going....I feel so stupid even writing this, but it goes to show even a Dis vet can make a mistake. We walk up to the turnstiles, put our cards in and the kid's cards aren't working. The young lady asked if we already visited a park today:scared1:I knew at that moment the stupidity of what I had done. She was so sweet and wonderful and I felt like an idiot. We were going to run into MK, pick up a few items I had been eyeing up during the trip, head to WL for dinner, then back to MK for Wishes. I didn't care about the purchases, it's just stuff, but the fact that Aladdin wouldn't see Wishes broke my heart. We had talked about it the entire trip and now he wouldn't get to experience it. I couldn't hold it together and I started to cry...yup right there at the turnstiles, bawling like a baby. I think everything caught up with me, the horrid weather we had, trying to fit everything in 7 days, just not possible.

Oh well, I apologized and of course he says "it's all good, I've had the time of my life" this did not help the crying, mostly because I knew he really meant it. What were we going to do now, our ADR's weren't for another 2 hours and we already had seen the CR, GF and Poly. I really didn't want to take the bus back to the hotel so we decided we would just wing it, check out WL, and hopefully get in early for dinner.

We went and got in line at the boat dock and it was terribly windy....and a cold wind!! Oh well, we were taking the boat because the kids wanted to take the boat so who was I to argue with that.

I gave the camera to Aladdin because he was sitting at the edge and he just shot away....it was hilarious.

Another shot of the boat launch as we left the MK

A couple of water shots, he was trying to capture just how windy it was/

Going underneath the monorail...this is one reason I loved whenever he took the camera, he took pictures of things I would never think to take pictures of and when I told him that he said I would never think to take pictures of food but you do....we laughed so hard when he said "I know, it's for the disboards"
408-2.jpg

One of my favorite shots, I love this picture
409-2.jpg

His shot of the churning water...I was so scared the camera was going to end up in the water!!

Arriving at WL
412-1.jpg

Pool area, it was so cool this day I couldn't imagine anyone in the water....and people usually say they know we're Canadian because we're the only ones in the pools when it's cold, even for us, it was too cold
413-2.jpg

Couple of shots outside at WL, I must say, I think this is one of the most beautiful resorts in WDW, I hope we can stay here one day.
414-2.jpg

416-1.jpg

All checked in and waiting to be called...they told us they probably couldn't get us in sooner so we just thought we would browse through the gift shop and enjoy the beautiful lobby area

We were called well before our actual ADR time so we were quite pleased. We had decided if we got in early that we would take a bus to DTD instead of a boat back to MK. Then at least we could make the Disney magic last a little longer as this was our last night in the World.
423-1.jpg

I forgot to take a picture of the food when it arrived, but as you can see, Aladdin did a fine job of polishing off the skillet!!!
424-1.jpg

He wasn't feeling so good after! We had a wonderful server here and in the beginning when we were first seated I was a little disappointed that we weren't in the main dining room where all the shenanigans take place but a little room off to the side. I have to say though, it turned out wonderful, our server spent so much time talking to the kids about what their favorite parts of the vacation had been and we just reminenced about our week and how lucky we were to have had this time together.

After our delicious dinner we found the bus stop and waited a little while for the DTD bus. It was so nice to be on that bus...heat was a beautiful thing that evening. We wandered around DTD, bought a few more souvenirs for Jasmine's friends and Aladdin's family and headed back to the hotel about 10pm. We had had our last full day for the next day we had to leave the hotel by 4pm to catch the ME for our 8pm flight home.

Coming up......our last morning in the World....DHS here we come!!!

When we returned to the hotel I decided I would leave out only the clothes we would be wearing to fly home and any necessities, everything else I was going to get into the suitcases tonight. I didn't want to waste any park time in the morning packing!

I actually placed a wake up call but was awake before it came...I jumped into the shower and when I came out I was sure the kids would be up, but nope both were sound asleep. I laid down beside Jasmine and whispered to her that it was time to get up that it was our last day. She grunted something I couldn't quite understand but within 2 minutes she was up and in the shower. Aladdin followed, why is it men can be up, showered, and out the door in 15 minutes top???

We grabbed a quick bite before catching the bus to DHS. We decided on the way to the park that we would head straight for TSM and just ride it, I had no idea when the Fastpass return times would be and we had to be back for our ME at 4pm.
427-1.jpg

On our way, we just had to stop and watch the Green Army Men...this guy was hilarious and the kids couldn't have been cuter. I think if Aladdin hadn't of stuck out like a sore thumb, he would have been right in there.
428-1.jpg

429-1.jpg

The little guy in the mouseears was the cutest little boy. I think he was either freezing or really needed to use the washroom, but there was no way he was leaving, he was enjoying himself far too much
430-1.jpg

Heading for TSM, we had already decided it didn't matter how long the line was we were waiting....that was until Aladdin realized that Buzz and Woody were across the way taking pictures
431-1.jpg

Waiting in line to see them, Aladdin played with everything the little kids in front of us played with...it was quite funny. Funny that is until Jasmine burst into tears and could not gain control no matter what. Aladdin had no idea what had happened and was in panic mode. I put my arm around my beautiful daughter, looked at Aladdin and said "this is how every last day is...she spends it crying cause she doesn't want to leave." Needless to say, she didn't want to get into the picture. The young lady that was there to help Buzz and Woody was so wonderful to her. She thought something had happened and when I explained to her, she said I'm so happy I'm not the only one that does that!!!!
433.jpg

Aladdin with his two childhood idols....doesn't he look happy...he actually uses this picture as his profile pic on Facebook.
434.jpg

After seeing the characters we wandered back to RnRC....I decided not to ride with the kids, I just wanted to sit outside and take it all in, the sights and sounds of a place I never want to leave.
435.jpg

Just thought I would take a couple of shots while waiting....
436.jpg

I have purchased a thing or two at this cart over the years. Aladdin actually bought his mom the Mickey that is dressed like Steven Tyler as her souvenir, Aerosmith is her fav band...how appropriate.
437-2.jpg

The kids did ToT after but I again choose to just sit outside and enjoy my morning. After they were done, we walked back to the front of the park and decided we would watch this little interaction....I love these performers and I would be quite content to sit and enjoy them everyday.
439-2.jpg

Before we knew it, it was time to head back to the hotel. We had decided we would grab a bite to eat there as it wouldn't be as crowded as the parks. Jasmine was still crying but I always take a picture of us at our last bus stop on every trip...this one couldn't be any different.
440-2.jpg

Just capturing the last few moments before our bus came
444-2.jpg

Our last bus ride for this trip.....
446-2.jpg

Once we returned to the hotel we went straight to eat lunch. Once we were done, I asked the kids if they wanted to go around the resort and grab a few pictures but they only made it to Andy's room.

We headed out to ME and had an uneventful ride to MCO. I really hate that we have to be at the airport 4 hours ahead of our departure time but hey, it is what it is. We saw our plane land and knew in a matter of 20 minutes they would have it all cleaned up and ready for us to board.

I was so happy to know that we were going direct to Winnipeg....it was a four hour flight and I was restless, but it sure beat sitting in Toronto airport for 4 hours waiting for a connecting flight.

We had a great flight home, no turbulence, no nothing....until we were coming in to land....yup, just our luck, aborted landing....this is the third time this has happened to Jasmine and I. I couldn't for the life of me think what it could be...the first time, it was fog and the pilot overshot the runway, the second was a brutal thunderstorm coming into Orlando, and now this!!! Turns out the plane that came in ahead of us didn't move his butt fast enough to get off the runway, so around the city we went!!!

Finally safe on the ground, we deplaned, collected our baggage, headed through customs and onto looking for our ride. Carrie-Lynn (my little sweetie from work who drove us to the airport) was coming to take us home too. When those sliding doors opened from customs and I saw her standing there with my Tim Horton's coffee in her hand I screamed I love you!!!! I was dying for a good old coffee. Then Aladdin got the biggest surprise when his mom, dad, and sister came around the corner.

We all headed out to our cars and knew we were all back to real life.

I hope you have enjoyed this TR and I hope to have another for you in the future!!!!

Aww I hate to see your TR end! (but I know you'll post some graduation pics for us) Poor Jasmine! I felt so bad that she was so sad to see the vacation end! I love the pic of Aladdin with Buzz and Woody! It's so cute that his enthusiasm never seemed to fade!

Thanks for sharing your memories with all of us! :goodvibes

Loved your TR. I'm sitting here crying after hearing about Jasmine crying. What is it about Disney that makes us just turn to mush?

LOved your TR! Thanks for sharing. So sad that Jasmine cried all day on your last day :(. It is hard to leave. I find myself telling myself that we will be back and not to be sad a few times during the last two days. Can't wait to hear what you decide to do about your next trip! Jasmine and Aladdin sound like such responsible young adults! You have every right to be proud!

Awwwww!!!!!!! I'm so sad to see your TR end!! I have loved every minute of it!! :cloud9: The pics were great that Aladdin took...it is great to have a newbie's perspecitive on it!! We too never added park hoppers on last Aug/Sept, and second to last day we had to add them on...I had made dinner ressies in Epcot for Abbys Birhtday, and we had been to MK!!:headache: So we added them on, needless to say Kyle was not impressed!!! LOL I am not sure if I commented on Jas's dress....but she looks beautiful in it!! I hope she has a wonderful time!:goodvibes I am sorry you had to cancel your plans for a trip this year! Just think how great the next one will be!!

How did you enjoy all that rain this past weekend?!! We got some backup through the washing machine's drain, but nothing compared to a lot of people!! All of our neighbours had quite a bit of water/sewage:eek: Hopefully that will be the last of the heavy rains!!!

Thanks for the great TR Queen!!! Until next time!!:upsidedow

Awww i'm sad to see your TR come to and end. You did such an amazing job on it and I've enjoyed reading all of it. I'm sorry to hear that you guys had to cancel your September trip but luckily this one was so great you'll have lots of memories from it forever. I loved your TR and all of the pics!

Great finish! We've been to Whispering Canyon twice and I've had the skillet both times; you can't beat it.

The pictures from Andy's room brought back lots of memories. That is the very first place we stayed at WDW and Toy Story was Declan's favourite movie at the time. He was amazed at that area.

Thank you so much! I agree, there is something about that place that is like nothing else on earth. Someone at work asked me why we continue to go as often as we have and I said it's just a feeling you have when you're there....I couldn't describe it!![/COLOR]

I just noticed that you guys are going in September....so excited for you!!! I was so happy to see the sun today it wasn't even funny! We were lucky, we never had any water, but the airfield next to our street was like a mini lake. A lot of people at work had problems with water in their basements, I felt awful for them, it's an awful thing to clean up!!

We still need to make a date for lunch!!!

I agree, I love that skillet!!

I understand the attachment to that resort...we stayed there when Jasmine was 8 and 10...and when I look back at how little she was and think of all the great memories....money can't buy that!!!!

HI!! Joining in a little late, but I loved your TR :goodvibes We were at the WL in January--it was COLD! We loved Whispering Canyon too and are making our ADRs for a December WL trip tomorrow!! WC is our first stop when we check in.

Congrats on your new trip!! Are you writing a PTR for it??

Aww great ending, very sweet. Tell Jasmine she made my little one tear up (ok me too) I totally know how she felt. I cry when I see the castle on the first day and I cry when leaving on the last. Nice to know Disney makes us all cry. lol
We enjoyed your report and thanks for taking the time to share your trip with us!!
