I cry on my first day there and my final day there. ugh.:confused3

Congrats to your daughter...:)

KIM

I've missed you my friend:hug:

Yes, we are going with the whole gang next summer! Peg's girls are so excited about Aladdin coming along, they are going to wear him out! Jasmine's excited because she said he can play with them in the pool and she can suntan:lmao:

I finished work today and am now on a weeks vacation....graduation day is Tuesday...I can't believe it. The convocation ceremony is at 830am and the dinner and dance is at 530...it will be a cramped day, but I figure after I drop them off at Safe Grad, I can come home, upload pics and do a post!!

So nice to hear from you my friend:hug:

That's so great, you will all have a wonderful time next summer!!! Maybe we can finally get that DISmeet squeezed in too :cool1:

Hope you are enjoying your vacation and big CONGRATS to Jas on her graduation and to you too on getting her there as a beautiful strong young lady!! :goodvibes

Missed you too my friend, glad to be back

As soon as I know dates I will let you know so hopefully we can meet!!!! I passed along your congratulations to Jasmine and she asked me to say thank you so much.

As far as that Dismeet....I have a pair of mittens here with your name on them....which I will bring with me, will that get you there for sure?:lmao:

Can't wait to see some pics and hear all about Jas' graduation! :goodvibes:

I am working on a post right now!!:cool1:

Me too!!!!:goodvibes

Stay tuned:banana:

I promised a post of Jasmine and Aladdin's graduation and here it is. We awoke to a beautiful day, sunny skies, but the temperature would only get to 22 degrees, which is perfect, not too hot, not too cold! PERFECT!! I had set the alarm for 515am for me to jump in the shower, then I got Jasmine up at 530am. We had to be downtown at the convention centre for 730am for the ceremony.
150-1.jpg

Jasmine drying her hair after her shower, I think at this moment she knew it was going to be one of those days where her mother captured every single moment....hey, you only graduate from high school once!!
151-2.jpg

The dress she purchased last month at Victoria's Secret in Fargo ND on our shopping weekend. She originally thought she would wear her Portugal soccer jersey and shorts....I don't think so.....she reminded me you couldn't see anything under the gown, but I replied with, but I'll know and you're wearing a dress!!! Portugal was playing Spain at 130pm that day and she said I have to represent....again....mama doesn't think so
159-2.jpg

We arrived downtown about 720am, after stopping at Tim Horton's for coffee and a bagel. I was shocked how many people were there already, however, all made sense when I realized two other high schools were also having their ceremonies there! Can you find Jasmine? She is aisle seat looking to the left...her best friend Trevor his sitting beside her and you can just see his yellow shirt peeking out from under his gown.
166-1.jpg

My darling receiving her advanced academic diploma! I was so proud of this accomplishment. She worked very hard to receive the advanced diploma, but in the end, I know how proud she was of herself!
172-2.jpg

The graduates after the ceremony, Jasmine was having a heck of a time keeping her cap from sliding off.
173-2.jpg

A very proud mom of her daughter.
176-1.jpg

Jasmine and Mini Montana. Those who have followed my sister Purplepeg's TR's this is her youngest....her and Jasmine are attached at the hip!
177-1.jpg

My sis, Jas, MM, and me...unfortunately my parents could stay for the whole ceremony. My dad suffers from herniated disks in his back and the chairs were less than comfy. I was so sad when I realized there would be no pictures of Jasmine with her grandparents in her gown, but my poor dad just couldn't do it.
179-1.jpg

Now it was time to get the gown off and head halfway across town to get her hair and makeup done. On our way out Aladdin's best friend Andrew wanted a picture together so we stopped and got that. At that moment, I thought, we can't rush through this day.
181-2.jpg

Jasmine and her best friend Trevor, they have been best friends since grade 9 and his mom and I have become very close over the years too. Trevor is going on to University to take engineering..he's one smart cookie!
182-1.jpg

So now it was off to the car and the long wait of getting out of the parkade. At this point I was very happy that I had made her hair appt at 1230 and not noon, it gave us a little wiggle room. The hair transformation starts.
184-2.jpg

Not the best picture, but her hair was beautiful, Ally did an amazing job!
185-1.jpg

After her hair we had 45 minutes before her makeup appt so we quickly ran to Tim Horton's and grabbed sandwiches and coffee then back to the salon for makeup. Tammy faced Jasmine away from me, so even I couldn't see her until the reveal. At that point, I burst into tears. When she turned around, the hair and the makeup, Tammy is the best makeup artist ever!!!! She is such a talented girl! Jasmine doesn't wear alot of makeup, but Tammy said she should go darker as it had to last afternoon, evening and night. The final product was amazing!!!
189-2.jpg

We headed home to get into her beautiful dress. We had ordered her dress in Sep 09 so to think the day was finally here was almost unbelievable to me.
My BFF and her family purchased Jasmine's earrings and bracelet as part of her grad gift, the other part was actually her makeup, they gave her a gift certificate for that!
190-2.jpg

I honestly couldn't believe this was my little girl....didn't I just drop her off at daycare and cry all the way to work, I cannot believe how quickly this time has passed
194-2.jpg

It was such a lovely day, so we went outside to take some pictures.
196-1.jpg

Shortly after we went outside to take some pictures, my parents arrived.

202-2.jpg

I will go and upload more pics and continue with the dance!!!!

208-2.jpg

On to the dinner and dance!! On the way home from the hairdresser I was supposed to stop at the florist and pick up Aladdin's boutinnere, I forgot....Aladdin came to pick up Jasmine but he was in shorts and a t-shirt. I almost had a coronary...I had wanted pictures with them with my parents. Then his mom called and asked where he was...and he said at Jasmine's house. I could tell by his side of the conversation she wasn't happy. Apparently she didn't want us their until 4 pm, so now I was perturbed. I told Aladdin to go home because I had to go to the florist to pick up his flower anyways and by the time I did that it would be 4pm...where 4 pm came from I still don't know, but it didn't matter, it was what it was! No sooner had he left, I got a message on my cell. It was his mother telling me to call her at their house to clear up the misunderstanding and to top it off, she told me not to bother picking up a flower as she already bought him one. I was blown away....what was that about??? I didn't want to upset Jasmine, so I continued to the florist. It's a community family owned florist and there was no way I was not picking up the flower Jasmine had picked for him. Anyways, we got to their house and just went with it. Here are the kids with Andrew and Christine. Christine had graduated the day before from another highschool in our area.
209-2.jpg

They sure looked great, didn't they?

Pinning on Aladdin's flower (I'll just call it that) one of my favorite pictures

Christine and Jasmine before getting into the car to head for dinner and dance. Aladdin's brother lent him his Cadillac for the evening....classy!
213-2.jpg

The four of them.....Andrew and Aladdin have been best friends for years so to able to share these moments they will remember forever
215-1.jpg

Getting ready to get into the car!
216-2.jpg

All of a sudden I realized I didn't have a picture of me and Jasmine by the car so quickly grabbed that before we left.
218-2.jpg

I travelled downtown with Aladdin's parents and met the kids there. The is Jasmine and her friend Michelle, we took Michelle shopping for her dress after Jasmine told me other girls had taken her and the dress they told her looked good was awful! Why are girls like that.? So off we went. I took her to the place Jasmine got her dress after seeing the one she thought she wanted. It was awful....she's a tiny girl and it was all dress....I told her it wasn't her. We arrived at the other salon and the owner said "I have the perfect dress for you" boy was he right, she loved it and she looked beautiful in it.
219-1.jpg

They wanted everyone to see the backs of their dresses, Michelle's was gorgeous.

Thanks so much:hug: We cannot take any credit for the dress. We went to a bridal salon that I know the owner and he had a wonderful young lady help us. Jasmine was trying on the traditional "princess" dresses and they just weren't her. Finally, the young lady said, please try this one on, I know it doesn't look like much on the hanger, but it's stunning. Well boy was she right! The one she tried on was in fushia and she went and got swatches and told Jasmine to choose between dark olive and coffee...those would be the best colors on her and if she were Jasmine she should go for dark olive. Jasmine said ok.....and I knew she wasn't sure. Well later I told the owner but a fabulous job this young lady had done, she sure knows her stuff!!

Normally the girls don't wear another dress, but because we changed venues they were allowed to change. If we had stayed at the convention centre they couldn't because they're not allowed to bring bags to safe grad. Having said that though, one boy was taken away in an ambulance because they found him in a bathroom unresponsive. Then the police came and questioned the bartenders. Our drinking age is 18, both Jasmine and Thomas are only 17, so they couldn't drink. They gave the kids wristbands when they showed their ID, but somehow this kid got his hands on a lot of alcohol. I picked the kids up at 430am and we chatted until almot 530 before we all went to bed.

It truly was a wonderful day!!

Thanks you all for reading along:hug:

Hi Leanne, thanks so much!!

Apparently at Safe Grad Aladdin was running around telling everyone he had the prettiest girl at grad....Jasmine was mortified, but he wouldn't stop:lmao:On Facebook, a longtime friend said it's her inner beauty that makes her beautiful outside and I started to cry because I know she's right. She's a kind, caring, considerate young lady and I'm so proud of her.

I couldn't believe my luck with that picture of her and my dad. It's probably my favorite picture of the day! I got teary too my friend:hug:Her and my dad have a very special relationship....

Thanks so much for sharing the pics of Jasmine's graduation/dance. She is already beautiful, and all dressed up like that she was just stunning! :goodvibes I, too, love the adoring look on her grandfather's face in the picture of them together!

Hi Kim!!

That makes me happy, I really enjoy writing them, it let's me relive the vacation just a little longer:cloud9: He is hooked and wants to go back too!!!

I cry when I see the castle, every time, every trip:rolleyes1 I cry everytime we leave too, thinking this is the last time we're going to walk by the pool blah blah blah all the way to arriving at the airport....I feel so sad all the time. But we always know we'll be back, god willing!

Congratulations to both of you! All the pictures are just beautiful!

I must admit I got a little misty when you said it "seems like I was just dropping her at daycare". Having been through Caitlin's graduation 2 years ago, I truly understand all the emotion that the day held!

We'll be looking forward to that PTR :thumbsup2

Thank you so much Dawn:hug:

I can remember that day like it was yesterday. When I had Jasmine my maternity leave was 6 months, but with careful financial planning I extended it to 9 months, wanting to stay home as long as possible with her. The morning I dropped her off I cried the entire drive to work. I thought my heart would break, I had never felt pain like that:sad2:

I can't wait for the day when I can start my PTR.....:woohoo:

Congrats to the grads and the parents as well. I'm not much for fashion but the first picture of Jamine in her gown was stunning. In fact the entire group looked pretty good.

It was interesting that everything was the same day. Here they have a prom one day and graduation and safe grad on another night.
