Quebec city?

Anyone tell me how long the drive? I am going there the week ending with Thanksgiving and trying to decide whether to drive or fly?

5.5 hrs to Montreal - Montreal to Quebec City 2 hrs = 7.5

My inlaws live in Montreal, we've done this trip many times when we lived in Toronto..

that's with no TRAFFIC!

It really all depends on whether you hit traffic in Montreal, IMHO.

If you're approaching the region during Rush Hour, you can take A-20 (connecting from the eastbound Highway 401 in Ontario) to Exit 14. From there, follow Rte. 201 South and Rte. 132 East to Châteauguay; and then A-30 East to meet up with the 20 East again in Brossard, which from there is a straight shot to Quebec City. That basically takes you along the South Shore, bypassing the traffic madness on the Island of Montreal.

Traffic information is available from the Ministère du Transports du Québec's "Québec 511" service (note that the site itself is in English, but some of the traffic and roadwork information entered by MTQ workers is often available in French only), also available by dialing 511 in Quebec or 888 355-0511 elsewhere.

Absolutely agreed with Glendalais, at all costs, avoid rush hour in Montreal! I have horrible memories of getting lost on the highway, at Decarie Blvd.!

and if it's a long weekend, leave early otherwise you will get stuck on the 401 right after Kingston

We are going Oct 6-8'ish...maybe till the 9th. That is Thanksgiving weekend.
Hmmmm.....we anticipate coming back won't be fun??

like I said if you leave "early" you will be ok.. We've had trips that were over 8 hrs just from Montreal because of traffic back to Toronto over a long weekend.

my advice - LEAVE EARLY! or the next day if you can
