On occasion we get an influx of new residents to our cozy little corner, which we absolutely love! And we love to share our ideas, talents, and finished projects. This is how we grow and learn as chefs, crafters, and gardeners.
However we are not allowed to share our businesses, referrals, or any for profit enterprises. So we will be posting and bumping the rules a few times a year for those that are new to our abode.
1. FOR SALE For sale ads are strictly prohibited on any of the DISboards. Anyone posting such ads will have their post deleted. This same policy applies to links to your ebay/auction listings . "For sale" posts includes requests for donations. If you are participating in or wish to promote a charitable event, please email the webmaster at webmaster@wdwinfo.com for permission first. (You will be asked to provide proof that the organization is legitimate.) Until your request is approved, we ask that you do not post about it on the boards.
5. ADVERTISING: The advertisers/sponsors who you see on the DIS are carefully chosen. While we welcome discussion of them as well as other businesses that you have information or questions about, if its determined that you are using the DIS to promote a commercial venture, you will lose your posting privileges. In addition, links to the company's website will be blocked. Also note that we do not want the boards to be used for solicitations or for requesting referrals.
A.This includes asking others for referrals, where you would get credit, codes, or any other special perks for referring new people.
B. This includes posting referral links in posts, in your signatures and with your username, with the same reasons above.
C. This includes asking people to PM or email you for additional information.
D. This includes linking to your eBay auction.
E. This includes posting that you have 4 unused park hoppers, but cannot get to Disney this fall, and you really need the money, so what can you do with them.
F. This includes posting that you know someone who makes handy dandy lists for keeping track of Refrig swaps and you can see her product at MyLists.com. Or you can see them on eBay by checking out THIS auction.
G. This includes showing everyone the lovely containers you made for holding antiseptic lotion and asking them whether you think that they can sell. Or how much you should charge for them. Or if you should wait until cold season to sell them.
This list in not inclusive, but I think that you get the idea. (At least I hope so.)
The moderators and many veteran posters have had prior dealings with people trying to go around the rules, so we know what to look out for.
Please let's just let the DIS be (personal) advertising and solicitation free.
Besides, it's the rule, you CAN get infraction points for going against the rule. And we dont want that to happen since we love seeing new people and veterans and their wonderful creations.
