Good snowy morning, actually goes from snow, to sleet, to a mix. They say it should stop in about an hour and the temps go up to 37. it's just below freezing right now. The sanding trucks just rolled through, and they just announced a little while ago that schools are now closed. They could have gone with a 2 hour delay. Ridiculous.

I fed the cats, 1 was on the back deck, 2 were on the front porch, and Tiger was in the window well of the cellar on the side of the house. I guess she slept there all night. She wouldn't move so I brought her food dish to her. Talk about spoiled, lol

I didn't hear any cats fighting overnight, and no meowing so Goosie is settling in nicely. She found the litter box on her own yesterday, which was the only thing I was worried about. Her mama was on the front porch last night all by herself, so I brought her in just to see that her baby was safe and okay in here. I don't think she cared, she wanted right back out.
The little one is quick. I opened the front door to feed the ones on the porch (the inside ones were in the kitchen eating), and before I knew it, she snuck right by me and went on the porch. She tried to eat out of mama's dish so I was able to grab her and bring her back in, but I got a good scratch on my hand trying to do it. I have to remember to be very careful with the doors until she's more used to being in.

Summer has to drive her husband back to Cincinnati today, where he will most likely be for the next 3 weeks. I don't know how she can stand to keep making that long drive. Every time she does, she ends up with a flare up when she gets back and spends 2 days in bed.

I need to take the trash down but I'm waiting for it to warm up a little bit. Right now it's big fat snowflakes, and the radio said 1-2", but unless we're going to get 2 inches in the next hour or so, that's not going to happen, which is fine by me.

Have a good day

Lynn Thank you for taking such good care of the kitties. The little kitty seems right at home in house.

Good morning. It is 30 here now with temps going to the mid 30s. We only got 2 inches of snow but then it turned to rain and freezing rain. I would rather have the snow. Jeff's area near Boston only got rain. It is icy and a little bit of a coating out in my driveway and walkway. I will have to put down some ice melt so I can take out the trash. I organized the stocking stuffers yesterday and wrapped a few gifts. I probably have too much candy as usual but I do have 8 stockings to fill.

Have a good day.

We only got rain down my way as well, @Snowysmom - which I do appreciate, since I have somewhere to be later this morning.

I've been doing the indoor Christmas decorating in pieces, and I'm almost done (except for the tree, of course, which will be a family thing.)

Today I'm helping out a friend with a kids' storytime 🎄📚 and then later decorating a different tree for a charity event with some other ladies from the lodge. - We do it every year and then go out to dinner after, so I'm looking forward to it.

Good morning, 31 now going to 37. We got light snow early yesterday morning, which turned to freezing rain, which turned back to snow and amounted to about 1/2". It was all melted by 1 pm, which is fine by me. I took the trash down to the street after it ended.

The kitten is so funny. She's following the youngest of my 4 around like a puppy. Whatever he does, she does. She finally let me pick her up and hold her last night. Snuggled down and started purring. I woke up this morning to find all of the toys from the little plastic bin scattered all over the kitchen floor, so they obviously had a good time overnight. She's got the tiniest little squeaky meow.

I just got out my little Hydrosteam carpet cleaner and did a few spots. One of them ate something that didn't agree with them and of course they vomited it out on the living room carpet. All cleaned up now, along with a couple of other little spots I found.

When Don was in the hospital the last time, I started a small cross stitch sampler for my friend in CO. My eyes aren't what they used to be, and I couldn't concentrate enough while sitting in his room. I got it out the other day and started working on it. If it's not finished by the time I mail her Christmas gifts, it will be for her birthday in February..

I still haven't heard from Dave which is unusual. He doesn't know I took the framing off the steps, so I would think he would call and say he would come and get them off.

Laundry is in the washer. Going to do a quick clean of the bathrooms and call it done for chores. I have programs I want to watch ---if anyone wants a good Netflix one, All Her Fault was one of those that keep you guessing who dunnit right until the end.

Have a good day

Please stat warm and safe all of you especially in snowy areas.

Dear Snowysmom, you fill all stocking with faith and love. The surprises sound fun to add.

Dear PollyannaMom, thank you for helping to decorate the tree for charity. I would enjoy being part of that.

Dear Lynn, thank you indeed for your kitty care. I hope Dave is okay. Doesn't sound like him from the person you have shared with us for so long. I certainly hope all your home tasks get done.

Happy Wednesday everyone. I will check back later.

I need your secret! Our new guy is finally coming closer, but has definitely not consented to be cuddled yet.

The tree came out great!! I'm not sure whether I'm supposed to post pics before the actual event, but I will try to remember after!

It was a late night, since we went to a long, chatty dinner after, so I'd better say good night now 🥱💤

Bobbiwoz Safe travels.

Good morning. It is 25 here now with temps heading into the 30s. Tomorrow morning it is supposed to be 5 degrees. BRRRR! Too soon for that. My friend in NH got a foot of snow with the storm. She has 2 border collies who love to run around in the snow so they were happy. Yesterday I went to Market Basket which wasn't too bad. I did some walking around the condo complex once the ice melted.

Have a good day.

Good morning! It’s 33 degrees here right now so quite chilly and frosted (a good thing as far as I’m concerned at this point, will tell you why in a minute). We only got rain on Tuesday, but it was a cold, nasty rain. Yes, my brother up in NH and another friend up there both reported 8 to 8.5 inches of snow. Brother was just getting a roof put on on Monday so they worked into the night to finish it up. He sent me a yard cam video of them working under floodlights. Looked dangerous! (House is huge and roof is high up!) He just had a bday and I never know what to get him so I got him some cat toys from Amazon (what a great thing it is to be able to send gifts so easily) and he sent me video of the cat playing with them, which was cute.

Well, Toto had a vet visit on Monday. Was happy they took him right away as I’d emailed them Sunday night. And yes, he has tick borne disease. ☹️ Likely from our walks in the woods. 😢 Our regular vet was good, back in August she’d run a tick panel and it was negative. (Though he’s had tick disease before.) This time it came back positive, so that, along with his limping and not being able to jump up, plus a picture of the engorged and dead tick we pulled off of him which was confirmed as a female deer tick, bought him three types of medicines. He’s on an antibiotic, an NSAID, and we started him on glucosamine supplements as she thinks he has arthritis, as well (which I’ve been thinking about for a while even before this happened. Was waiting to find a good glucosamine supplement as all are not equal. Got a good one from them [dasuquin] it isn’t cheap but I know it’s good quality and it’s something tasty he’ll eat on his own and I don’t have to fight with it.)

With all this medicine for such a little guy I felt sort of bad for him, plus they’d taken him away to get bloodwork and outside to get pee and he was whining to leave when he got back into the room (even though he’s so friendly and bouncy to staff, they get a kick out of him). But the next morning with all that in his system he scared me as he wasn’t moving and {gasp} I thought for a minute he was gone! :scared1: I did one of those little freak outs like you do when your babies are little and you think they’re not breathing! Lmao! But he was ok, just probably more comfortable than he’s been and in a deep sleep, which was good. So yesterday DD was patting him and found another tick!! Holy crap! This was a dog tick and it was alive, had to have come from out in our yard. So that’s why I’m glad we’re having frost, so the ticks will die off. Vet said some of the topical ointments aren’t working as well anymore. He gets his monthly. So I may have to rethink the flea and tick part. I don’t want to go through this again.

Lynn, I like your kitten stories! So sweet! And glad you let Mama see where he went, as well as all you do for the stray cats. PollyannaMom, hopefully, in time, your new cat will want cuddles, too. Bobbi, have a nice trip. Bonnie will be so happy when you get back, and she’ll learn you come back for her, which is what Grady had to learn, too. Toto already knew. Poor guy. In Sept he was in the kennel w Grady and my son’s dog too (separated, though G and Toto share a space). Son’s dog is hyper and Toto isn’t keen on being around her as she’s too bouncy, though he is very tolerant when she is around, surprisingly. Poor guy had to deal with all that for ten days, lol. We try not to take the suitcases out until the very last minute, though he knows anyway once we start putting things out on the table to bring and digging things out from around the house, etc. Dogs are so in tune to everything.

I think I might go visit my elderly friend today. I called her on Thanksgiving and told her I’d come over this week. I’ll grab some McDonald’s, for her it’s a treat as she never gets it anymore. Last time I brought Filet O Fish sandwiches, fries and shakes, will do the same today. Plus I got her some chocolates and I’ll get her some type of little tree or basket of fresh pine, which she always enjoys. She’s 84 now and bedridden, but at least she made it home from rehab after breaking her leg in a fall at home two years ago right before Christmas. We always talk and talk and talk, hours go by, and we have a lot of laughs. She lived across the street from me for 30 yrs and when we saw each other, we couldn’t stop chatting. Her nephew used to get irritated if he was taking her somewhere so I’d have to tell her to go. But she’s alway so positive and loving with me, she’s a really good friend. Keep her in your prayers if you will. The main people she sees are her caregivers.

Have a good Thursday, everyone! 🐣🎄

No secret, I let her come to me. I kept saying her name, and petting her when she let me, and the next time I went to pick her up, she let me. Last night she discovered the couch was a comfy place to lay and watch tv, she was out, lol

I meant to add this, too. My little boy.

Good hard frost morning. 29 now going to 34 today, tomorrow will only get to 29. Too early for it to be this cold.

@Pea-n-Me Glad that Toto was just asleep, I know how scary that can be, I've had that happen with my cats once in awhile. Puts you in sheer panic until you find out they're breathing, just sound asleep.

I woke to someone scratching at my bedroom door this morning, and none of the other cats do it, so it had to be the kitten. It's so funny to watch her playing with the other one that she looks like (pic below). She discovered the tv last night and sat in front of it staring at the screen, her head going back and forth. It's been a while since I had a kitten, I'd forgotten how funny they are.

I did a little cross stitching yesterday, trying not to overdo it on my eyes. I have all the wording done on the sampler, and that's the most intensive part. I'll do a little more today after I dust and vacuum. Not sure how the kitten is going to react to that. The carpet shampooer didn't bother her yesterday but then again, I wasn't moving all over the house with it either.

Have a good day

Who’s that with the kitten? Mama? Or one of your other cats? They look alike! Adorable.

Thank you. It's not mama. it's Munchie, the kitten I took in 1 1/2 years ago, they come from the same mama (Lynx is her name), but mama is longer haired, with the same coloring.
They do look a lot alike, but with the size difference it's funny to watch them playing together.

This is mama outside right now. Surprised she stayed still enough to take a picture.
