Good morning. It is 66 and temps are heading into the 80s. The heat is coming back for a day or so. I saw Jeff and the grandkids yesterday. They are having a nice summer vacation. Ellie is excited about her birthday weekend at Disney. They are telling the other kids this weekend about the trip. Luckily they all will be going in August. Today I am heading to the gym, maybe the lake, and have some housework to do.

Good morning. Slightly cooler today, only 89, lol. Despite having full sun and not a cloud in the sky, we had a 3 minute downpour right after I finished mowing the lawn. They say slight chance today, but it sure doesn't look like it.
After I came in I got a cold drink, took a cool shower, and then had enough energy to dust and vacuum and do a load of laundry.

Summer made it home, after they sat in traffic with no ac 1 1/2 hours for an accident on the highway. She said she dumped a pail of cold water over her head as soon as she got home. She changed the plug and the plug wire on the cylinder they said was misfiring, but it didn't make any difference. The car shook all the way home and she couldn't go faster than 45. I don't think she's going to be driving that for awhile. She's going to call the garage tomorrow and see how much they want to install the back brakes on her other car. She has to have at least one functioning vehicle.

I made small batches of egg salad, chicken salad, and seafood salad this morning. It's easy to throw some on top of a garden salad, and have some fruit and cottage cheese with it. I'm just not very hungry in this heat.

Cute ducks all-around. Happy Sunday dear friends. Dad is getting some groceries delivered this morning from Ralphs. I am so grateful we both are able to do that. I got my favorite pudding cups snd some extra supplies delivered from Ralphs yesterday. The shopper did a fantastic job of even getting me a box of sandwich bags that was not on my original order. It is peace of mind to know I am able to get deliveries here.

Dad and I are sure praying that he will learn his x-ray results tomorrow. He just has to start feeling better. Thank you all so much for your extra prayers for him.

I would also appreciate extra prayers. PM me still if you have had experience getting someone, especially in a management position, understand that sometimes the specific person delivering care or another service makes all the difference. People are not interchangeable! Thank you.

Good morning. It is 60 here now with temps heading into the upper 80s. Yesterday I did some housework, made a broccoli chicken casserole for the week, and went to see Kenny for a little bit. We talked about the Disney trip and our dining reservations as I can make those in about 18 days but who is counting. He wants to do a character meal for the kids so we are looking at Garden Grill for breakfast. The kids told me to pick a place for my "birthday" dinner. I picked Trattoria Al Forno as I have always wanted to go there. It really isn't my birthday until December but the trip is for my birthday. The rest of the meals will be quick service. We are doing lightning lane as we only have 3 park days and Jeff has 2 park days. I like planning so I am doing a bit of that now.

Off to work. Busy week yet again. Have a good day.

We've always loved Garden Grill!! Some of our favorite characters, and great interaction when DS was little. We like the family style food service, too.

I've never tried Trattoria Al Forno, but it looks good online. I love that the grandkids want you to pick for your birthday!

Dear Snowysmom, I am Disney excited for you. It is so sweet that your grandkids wanted you to choose a celebratory dinner spot. Thank you so much on both dad and my issue. God willing, both will have a positive update later today. Dad is in a lot of I pain which, of course, breaks my heart. My issue has been weighing heavily on us both. I did get a lot of support on it yesterday which was so touching. It just is awful that one person gets to have a final say. No matter what, I know, God's will will prevail and that is all that matters.

Dear PollyannaMom, I love that you and your family have special character dining memories. May you also get to visit Mickey soon.

Good last day of June 2025. Sunny and bright, temp is 76, going to 88 with strong storms around noon. We never got any rain at all yesterday despite their forecast. I was just outside deadheading the petunia's, and watering everything, just in case. It's warm out, but not very humid for a change.

Tiger is missing again. I haven't seen her since Thursday at dinnertime. I'm afraid this time she's not coming back, and it makes me sad.

@lynxstch, sorry that you feel Tiger is gone. I like how you are ready for some salad meals! We have enjoyed a fair amount of tuna salads in this heat.

Today I have three medical appointments, and then we pack for our 4th of July trip to WDW. I LOVE the fireworks and patriotic music that Disney has! We will be visiting our good friends at WDW as well. I was able to get them into BLT for one night. We’ll celebrate a belated birthday for our friend at Beaches and Cream.

Good morning. It is 71 here now with temps heading to the upper 80s. We are supposed to have rain off and on too. Work has been a challenge since I got back from the cruise. Just trying to slowly deal with it. I talked with one of my long time coworkers and she is not happy either. We talked about the person they let go and how we both think they should have helped her more. I get to see my coworker in the office next week and I am looking forward to it. We have worked together for almost 18 years and I miss seeing her and talking with her. She is a character and she does not take any nonsense from anyone! LOL!

Good morning. Dumped down rain overnight, today it's sunny now, very humid, and calling for showers and strong storms around noon. Then there's no chance of rain until sometime next week, when there's a good chance almost every day. Thankfully the lawn hasn't grown much. Temps are going to be 82 today, then climbing back to the 90's for the next 10 days or so.

Still no Tiger

Going to get some cleaning done today. Tomorrow I have a haircut appt, need some groceries and it's Jurassic Park: Rebirth day. I have tickets for the first showing at noon. Treating myself and a friend.

Dad is on his way either by taxi or his own car right now to the doctor. God willing the taxi did finally come unlike the other day. His appointment is at 12:30pm. I am just so grateful he finally is going back to the doctor. Of course, I sure am praying for him.

Nothing definite yet on my situation here. I am choosing to believe that is a positive. So many wonderful people staff and residents have gone to bat for me. I don't want to post details for privacy reasons. I would appreciate prayers that come early Monday morning and the following days ahead that I will be able to continue my recovery with loving exceptional care from one particular provider. God knows all, of course, and has this. As a human, the last few days have been heart wrenching and extra because of concern for dad. I know he feels the same.

Prayers that each of you are enjoying this first day of July. God willing, positive updates later. Thanks dear friends, always.

Good morning. It is 70 here now with temps heading to around 83. Thunderstorms came through last night and it rained like crazy. It is supposed to be cooler and not as humid for a few days. I went to the gym yesterday as it was too hot and humid out to walk outside. Today will be work, errands and talking with my NH friend.

Good foggy morning. We got a few showers yesterday but they didn't amount to anything. Slight chance tomorrow and then nothing for the next 10 days if they are correct. Going to be 87 here today.

I'm heading out to stop and get gas and hit Walmart early. Then I'll come home and put groceries away and head back to town for my haircut and the movie.

I was at Walmart by 7:45 and out by 8:15. It was super quiet in there. I didn't need anything at Aldi's, so I stopped to get gas and came home. Will leave around 10 to go back to the mall. Sun is out in full, all the fog has burned off.

@PollyannaMom I've been a fan of Jurassic since the first movie. While I've loved all of them, the same magic of the first one still sticks with me.

Praise God, the taxi did finally come to take my dad to the doctor and what the doctor could read of his xrays did not show anything alarming. He (doctor) prescribed a pain medication that dad will try to somehow get today. We pray it helps. Nothing else has

I just posted this in the gratitude thread: I am praying to hear an adminstrator say yes today to a care request of mine that will cost this facility nothing yet mean everything to me. There is also nothing the facility would have to do! I am not posting specifics for privacy reaaons. PM me please if you have any experience that may be similar. Truly my recovery depends on a, "yes." Thanks, everyone

Good morning!

Mona, hoping to hear some good news today about your Dad if he went to the doctor’s yesterday. Sounds like he’s in tremendous pain. I take it the XRays didn’t show much from Friday?

Feeling better, just awaiting surgery now. Nervous about that. Two of my oldest and greatest friends that I grew up with are visiting today, looking forward to that. We had plans for lunch at one of my favorite waterfront restaurants but with the heat and humidity we may wind up just making sandwiches and floating in the pool here - one of them actually suggested it. I made a pasta salad yesterday and it came out pretty good if I do say so myself.

We are going to see fireworks on July 4th, I have to plan what we’ll bring in a cooler for that, but maybe Italian calzones and Mom’s potato salad - kids won’t eat it but the adults love it. We used to bring a grill and sit out by the water from early afternoon until nighttime but we no longer have that portable grill and it’s an awful lot of work that I’m not sure I’m up for this time around. I was telling DH yesterday that, in the midst of chemo, I had a hard time even just taking a shower! When done I had to sit down and rest for a while, all sweaty. It’s scary because you ask yourself will this ever get better? Thankfully that feeling has mostly passed but I still can’t bomb around the house doing everything like I used to, have to limit what I do and take breaks in between tasks. There have been things I’ve been trying to get to that just didn’t happen. Oh well. (I need Lynn to come over and help me out! Lol.)
