Hi all - quick stop by to say hi and see how you all are doing.
Pea, I can't begin to understand the physical strain you've endured w/ your treatments but I'm glad you have got that first bit over with. May you have a uncomplicated recovery from surgery.
FlyingDumbo - glad things are going well. I do think you should see some sort of financial restitution from the landlord. If I recall correctly then aren't they supposed to have done something about the flooring by law? I know you are hesitant to stand up to him, but you may feel better for having done so - and think of what a example & help you may be to others in the building! Just something to think about. Glad to read you are up and walking about and gaining strength. As they say, use it or lose it.
Snowy - sounds like you are going to have a hell of a good time on your upcoming trip!
Lynn- did I read up thread that you & your girlfriend are planning your next adventure? Where to? I love having something 'on the books' so to speak!

Frankly, nothing terribly new or different going on here. Same as before. I got some new martini glasses that are hard plastic that freeze in the freezer...how's that for exciting?!?!?! Maybe the sun will actually come out and we can sit in the sun on Martini Sunday around the pool🌧️⛈️🌧️⛈️it's been rainy & cool here the last several days, which is actually been great for my wildflower & sunflower fields - but I'm ready for some steady warmth. It'll get here eventually. Then we'll complain that we want some cool weather again!

No idea what's for dinner tonight. It's looking dangerously like a frozen pizza I noticed in the deep freeze. In my next life I'm going to have a cook 4 nights a week...I'll just make a long list of everything we like, in every combination and let someone else be in charge of dinner and going to the grocery store cause we are both tired of that chore!

We are T-minus 5 or 6 weeks from grandbaby #1's arrival. Still feels surreal and odd to me. I don't feel like a grandmother and I'm just not sure how to wrap my head around it. Oh well - felt the same when we had our two kids (and they turned out fine) so I guess that is just part of nature!

Off to NC office next week, interviewing another person for my growing team to be based down there. We are slowly brining in people to take our spots so-to-speak. I'm getting tired of driving to NC BUT my brothers do it a lot more than me so I can't really complain.

Have a good evening everyone.

Enjoy every Hawaii moment, dear Lynn!

Dear Easyas, always good to hear from you, my friend. The city I live in does have renter's rights which stipulates every seven years landlords must update flooring. Our owner has refused and the mediation process offered is completely voluntary to attend plus takes a long time :( I will be asking social services here for any assistance ideas. I'm so excited for you grandma to be. You will be a wonderful light in that baby's life!

I still have my room to myself. I am sure praying it stays that way! Of course, above all, healing and comfort to Monica.

Have a good night friends with sweet dreams.

EasyAs Good to hear from you. How exciting the your grandbaby is coming soon. It is alot of fun and joy.

Taz Glad that your renovations are moving along.

Good morning. It is again a dreary morning. I enjoyed the sun for a couple days this week anyway. Today is supposed to be cloudy with maybe some showers and around 70. Tomorrow is forecast to be a rainy day with temps around 60. The grandkids will be missing soccer yet again. I have a hair appt tomorrow. I always look forward to talking with my hairdresser. She is a sweetheart. So far that is my only plan for the weekend. Well, that along with housework and I will probably go onto work for a bit as our busy time is coming up.

Have a good day.

Stay warm dear Snowysmom. I so look forward to summer sunshine!

I learned that M, my roommate, is expected back in 2 or 3 days. I truly pray she is in a healthier place this morning. It was such a blessing to have this room to myself last night and not be awakened by anyone coming in. I will enjoy that perhaps for a couple more days.

God willing, in exactly one month from today, I will be going home. That sure feels great :)

Have a happy Friday friends. I will check back in later.

Good sunny morning. They say possible storms this afternoon, but right now it's absolutely beautiful outside. Sunny, slight breeze, 65 degrees heading for 71. Everything dried out yesterday and I was able to get the grass cut and everything nice and neat again. Also cleaned the front porch and washed the siding out there. The rest of the house I can do with the pressure washer, but the porch has carpet and furniture so I have to do that by hand. Usually a couple of times a summer. Also did laundry so all of my chores are done.

Have a good day everyone

Son signed for their house yesterday evening. It's been a busy week!

After the signing I, and the other grandparents arrived with the grandchildren.

Granddaughter immediately wanted to go outside so we headed to the backyard. It's fenced in and cosy, with a very small veggie garden already started. Some greens, tomatoes, one spreading strawberry plant with lots of still white and a few almost red berries on it, plus some plantings that I didn't recognize.

DIL says it is too much time for her right now, and I understand. School is another 2 and a half weeks and with 2 under 3, one an infant, and a new house to organize her plate is very full.

But meanwhile, it's a source of wonder for granddaughter!

I'm heading back over around noon as there is a lot to do. The movers are coming today to bring the furniture and packed boxes over. The old place has to be returned tomorrow.

Cleaners for the new house did some work yesterday but (inmho) only did surface, not deep cleaning. The house wasn't dirty but three baths got what I call a lick and a promise, the kitchen got a wipe down but the older cabinets and drawers need more attention. Appliances were spotless though.

There are 4 doors to the outside - 2 on main level and 2 on basement (walk out) level, all needing locks replaced.

DIL enjoyed driving up to the back door under her carport. That will be special during rain or other weather. No garage but they had nothing at the rentals they've had in the past.

Anyway, it's sort of deja vu as one of DD's homes is almost identical, just larger. Son says what do you think and I say it's so much like your sister's and he starts rhyming off the differences. I should learn to keep my mouth shut and not do any comparisons!

Hope everybody is doing well!
