Good Afternoon. Bit chilly here and cloudy. There is a chance of rain and I am praying fervently that we don't get any this week. My patio doors and the windows are scheduled for installation on the 23rd barring inclement weather. I really would love to have them in for Christmas.

The tree is up and decorated with garland. Fitz likes to climb it although he is beginning to understand what the water bottle is. He gets a squirt when he goes in the tree and has been running away when he sees that bottle. He is a very playful kitten but so bad! I feed him first in the morning with his treats and then give the other two their treats. Fitz comes running into the kitchen and pushes them out of the way. I put him on the counter and he climbed into the sink and stuck his head into the drain that goes to the garbage disposal. I think he is going to get in trouble with the other 2 eventually. He is so cuddly when he wants to be though that it's hard to get mad at him.

My deck is finished. The stair rail needs to get exchanged and installed which my grandson hopes to do tomorrow. I was so excited that I went out to take pictures this morning and found a neighbor threw empty beer cans in the yard. I was furious. It was one of 2 houses behind me and they will be getting them thrown back when I verify the house. If it continues I plan on going to the police district to find out what can be done. I didn't spend all this money for someone to trash my yard. Some pictures though, Jay really did a great job

From one corner to the house. The air conditioner is being taken out and replaced with a stationary frosted window. The sideing is also getting redone a light gray


The staircase to the lower deck. You can see the offending cans. My yard slants as you can see by the fence. We are building a flower bed about 2 feet high and it will be fronted with the same decking material. I am so excited that I can have a vegetable garden this coming summer, I had wanted to put up a canopy awning back here but the stairs will be in the way. We will put a covering on the upper deck.


I also plan on some large planters on the corners. Now we start the demolition of the basement right after Christmas. The electrician will be wiring the deck when he rewires the main line and meter. My own little oasis.

Christmas shopping is just about done, just need a couple of gift cards.

I would ask for prayers for my aunt, my dad's sister. She fell and broke her left arm. Unfortunately she has little use of her right arm from a fall 2 years ago that caused nerve damage. I am praying it is a quick recovery so she can get back to normal. My cousin is supposed to have her at his house for 3 weeks in NC so we are hoping that can be extended until her arm heals. She lives alone so it is worrisome.

@bobbiwoz - you are in my prayers that everything goes well for you.

... This years Candlelight Processional was the best one yet, IMO. They seem to tweak it a little each year, and I think they got it perfect! Our narrator was Ralph Macchio, and it was his first time narrating and he was excited to be there and shared some of his family’s stories.

Bobbiwoz Nice pictures! I think we may have been there at the same time. I didn't do any of the shows. Chris and I did the Candlelight processional back in 2014. Thinking of you and Tom this week and sending prayers.

Good Morning. It is a warmer morning with temps at 28. It will be heading into the upper 30s today. We have sprinkler system inspections today. I asked for an early appt as I am up early and I got 3:10 pm. I have a zoom meeting with the grief counselor at 4 so they need to be here and gone by then. I did tell them in the email I was not available late afternoon. Yesterday Kenny came and set up Hallmark plus. I am really not up to date with adding streaming services etc. At least I do have my tech team aka Kenny and Jeff. I made a broccoli cheddar chowder soup last night. It is pretty good but not sure I will make it again. It will be good to just have to heat up something for supper especially on qi gong nights. Jeff invited me over yesterday but I have a cold and so not want to give it to them especially Sam who gets croup easily. I have had the cold since about the first day of my Disney trip but it is a bit worse now. Of course I have not stopped to take it easy either.

Off work and playing catch up for the near future. One thing to look forward to in retirement is not having to do this. But for now keeping busy is important. Tomorrow I go into the office in the afternoon as we have our team office Christmas party.

Sounds like jealous neighbors!

Deck is what looks like same material as mine although a different configuration. The best part is other than pressure washing in the Spring, it's maintenance free. I have the same caps on my posts, but I did 2 tone planks because son in law had extras from a job and asked me if I wanted them. Of course, free is very nice.Enjoy it, @tazdev3225

Happy Monday Morning.

Rainy but kinda warm today and tomorrow. Cold comes back Wednesday though.

Had my last night with my 3rd shift crew this past Saturday. I was doing really good Friday night when we said goodbye to our good friend who's the charge nurse. But man, Sunday morning was rough. Our CRNA hugged me and that's all it took for the tears to come. We had some good times together and good talks. We always asked about each other's dogs. And my friend who's the day shift charge nurse, I couldn't even say goodbye to. I just walked past and waved, I knew I wouldn't be able to hold it together. Cleaned out my locker during the night, it was sad seeing all the blank doors and empty lockers. Everyone had pictures on the front of the doors.

Watched the football games all day yesterday, Bengals won (yay!). I need to stop falling asleep sitting on the couch, I'm sure I'm messing up my neck in some way.

That's about it for me. I'm working at Kohl's tonight and tomorrow night. I'm taking a PTO day Wednesday, I have an interview at an ortho surgery center. This job is 5 days a week (8 hours), I've already accepted a 3 day a week (12 hours) position so I'm going to ask if they could do 4 10-hour days instead of the 5. That will probably be the deciding factor.

Good foggy morning. This weather is nuts. Yesterday we had snow, sleet, and freezing rain. About 2" of snow. I cleared it several times, a little at a time. The temp went up to 34 overnight and it's starting to melt. Calling for 45 and rain today, and 60 tomorrow. I have the start of a cold, I'm not surprised the way the weather keeps changing.

Didn't do much of anything yesterday but try to keep up with the weather. I put a big plastic covered box on the back deck and put the cats food and water inside. They all figured it out quickly. I watched a Hallmark movie while I had dinner, talked with my CO friend for about 3 hours, and went to bed at midnight.

Not planning on doing much today, I already took the cover off the car, fed the cats and the birds, did some dishes, and put a load of towels in the washer.

Dad went to Ralph's earlier (I know you shop at Kroger) and I thought of and wanted to give you a very pricey and unwelcome eggs heads up. A dozen eggs are back to costing $6.49! I will keep an eye out for sales! Overall, we sure are grateful so much for Ralphs especially because most of our preferred products are Kroger brand.

Flyingdumbo I hope you are continuing to make progress with walking and getting around. Prices do seem to be heading up again.

Good morning. It is 51 here now and raining for a bit. Then it will just be cloudy. My sprinkler inspection did not get done yesterday as the techs were called away to an emergency. It is supposed to be done today but not sure what time. I don't like having to wait around. I already did that yesterday before they let me know. I feel like I can't leave the condo until they come and I have errands to do. I am not going into the office today as our team Christmas party has been postponed until January. Too many people are sick with colds and other issues.

Off to work. Yesterday was a crazy day with issues that just came out of the woodwork! Hoping for a quieter day today.

It's raining here as well. I'm hoping it stops before the cats' vet check-up at 10:00. It's stressful enough for them without getting toted around in the rain.

Thank you dear Snowysmom and I'm also sorry about the sprinkler. God gave me a miracle this night. As you and everyone in our Quacker family know, nights are long for me because my sleep cycle is out of whack. I am beyond blessed to get a good 8 hours during the day just not all at once.

I pray to not complain. I was hurting around 1am or so. Lately my lowet legs/below knees have been very sore. I do know a huge part of that is a bad habit I unintentionally started of pushing down too hard on the walker's handles. I need to start using it correctly, much more lightly again! I prayed/praised just talked with my Jesus. He gifted me 3 hours of rest! I don't remember falling asleep but must have. Compared to how I felt earlier, I feel a ton better now. I am so graced!

Tuesday hugs to all and a reminder God loves and is with you forever. I care, too!

Well, the testing went all right, so procedure set for Friday. Can’t stop time!

Here it’s 50° and the fish are up looking for food. We had rain most of yesterday, it’s expected tomorrow, too.

I don’t expect to post much. Our Houston family will be coming next week, and also my other son and one granddaughter from Boston.

Good morning. It never did rain yesterday like they said it would. Today we're going to be 57 with sun. I'll take it!
My Christmas tree has a remote where I can change the speed of the lights, and change to about 20 different colors or have multi. It's too hard to try and take a picture of it with the lights flashing, lol. I did all my Wizard of Oz ornaments on it this year in honor of Wicked. I used to switch themes every year with my Hallmark ornaments. I have cats, bears, snowmen, Disney, etc, but I haven't used the Wizard of Oz ones since I met Don, so I used them this time. I have some iridescent balls on it in 2 sizes , iridescent garland and added some crystal beads to it this year. I'll try and get a picture, but I don't guarantee it, lol
I need to gather trash and take it down and make a grocery list for tomorrow. The holiday being on a Wednesday next week is going to throw me off. No way am I going on Tuesday the day before, so it may be Sunday or Monday just to pick up a few last minute things.

Walmart confuses me. I placed an order for 3 items to be delivered from the store. I got 3 different emails, saying each of them was delayed. I got on a chat to question it, and she said they would all be here by tomorrow at the latest, and she gave me a $15 promo code (which pays for one of the items). I got a text at dinnertime that one of them was on the way and the driver would be here within 10 minutes. I had to go out and wait for the driver when I got the text notification just to make sure that it didn't get left next door, since it was a gift for them, lol! This morning I got 2 Fed Ex emails that said both of the other items are out for delivery. I don't get it. All 3 of these items were in stock at the store, so why do they waste money paying Fed Ex to deliver them? So wasteful and then I have to recycle 2 more boxes that will be 3x bigger than they need to be. Amazon is just as bad. I got a small item, that was in a box that would have held at least 20 of them.
