Another dreary day on the way, some rain mostly clouds. The rain is getting to be serious problem in certain areas with flooding alerts. I am hoping Hurricane Lee does not get too close to Boston. We do not need any more rain for sure. Also, my flight leaves at 6 am on Sunday. I keep hoping for the best. Truly need this trip.

Good Tuesday Morning!

Finally, it's raining!!!! We haven't had rain in 16 days . My grass is so crunchy and brown.

Didn't do much of anything last night except put my skeleton in the yard , fed the birds & fish, and watered my flowers . I did watch some 9/11 specials that were on.

Planning to make pork chops in the airfryer for dinner tonight. I'm addicted to those now. I'll see what I have to eat with it.

I guess we'll see what tonight brings, probably watch NCIS reruns and the Reds game. We're still in the running to make the playoffs.

Good day to you all. Not much going on, had some thunder off in the distance yesterday evening, but no rain materialized. We did have rain earlier in the day, so that helped a bit. I think we are supposed to get some thunderstorms over night tonight. I hate to waste a good thunderstorm by sleeping thru it. Not a whole lot going on around here. I'm on the road all day Thursday, and again on Friday morning. Then Sunday afternoon I think I'm going to drive down to the NC office, it's either that or leave at 4 or so Monday morning since I have a 1 PM meeting Monday down there, then a 7 AM meeting on Tuesday morning. Husband is also traveling for work Tuesday -Thursday to a different location in VA. Next weekend is also his family reunion in far northern MD. I think he is still trying to figure out if he's going or not. I doubt I will go, but you never know. We will see how things shake out.
It does look like we are about to head into a nice stretch of weather with low humidity and temps in the 70's and possible low 80's. My cord of firewood gets delivered tomorrow.

I know I am being selfish in wanting to be able to get to WDW and back without a storm issue but I truly need the time away for my mental health.

You know, I think sometimes people should be more selfish. 'Selfish" has a negative connotation, but honestly - why NOT put yourself first once in a while? If you won't then who will??? There is nothing wrong with doing something for yourself, especially if it's going to have a beneficial affect on your mental health and/or your life in general.

Isn't that the nicest, it's really a boost when you can accomplish that. I need to work on making that happen vs. sitting down Sunday evening and feeling like it's the first time I've sat still in several days.

Well, like Snowy we have a WDW trip coming up. Ours isn't until the end of January, but I feel like it will be here sooner rather than later. I've booked our rooms (rented points again) and booked everyone's flights (husband wanted to take the kids 'one more time, for old times sake' even though our kids were never wild for WDW and preferred not to go there...they are game and willing to go for the sake of dear old Dad) a but haven't bought tickets. I guess I need to get around to that...4 day hoppers w/ Genie for 6 adults is slightly dear so I've been putting it off ha ha.

Good foggy morning. Was 54 this morning when I got up, but it's going to 87. Looks like Hurricane Lee has New England in it's cone, hoping it doesn't materialize for those of you with upcoming plans.

Summer's youngest, Gracie (hard to call her youngest anymore when she's 16 now), got a part in a movie that's being filmed locally. It has a local guy (Eddie Deezen) who was in Polar Express in it. They were filming a graveyard scene in an old 1900's cemetary yesterday. It's a parody of some old movie called Plan 9 and is a zombie type thing. Summer ended up being cast in a role too, and they came by last night on their way home in full zombie makeup. Maryland Public Tv is filming a documentary on it. Summer had another doctor appointment yesterday, and now they tell her she has to have a hysterectomy. She said it's like just make a list of surgeries, and I'll pick them blindfolded. One doctor told her that eventually they're going to find the one thing that's causing all the others. Then they better find it before she can't walk or use her hands anymore.

Off to take out the trash and walk through the garden. It's starting to look pretty sad, but it's about that time of year.

Good morning, all. DS is still feeling on and off - horrible in the middle of the night, resting and feeling almost OK during the day. He really needs this cycle to break.

@PollyannaMom - Does your son get migraines? My grandsons have issues like that and after a couple PCP and gastro doctors visits they think it has to do with migraines somehow. The boys will wake up in the middle of the night vomiting everywhere with severe stomach pains and be fine during the day. I know my daughter said it has something to do with a migraine syndrome.

Not much going on here today. Jim got fitted for the shoes now its the doctors and medicare fighting for them to get ordered. I dropped him off for his monthly breakfast and although a couple of his friends asked me to stay I declined. I do a thorough cleaning downstairs while he's gone and he needs time with his friends from work without me. None of the other wives go and he can get a ride there and back so I am happy.

I may try and head down the Jersey shore Friday to see the waves, The surf is supposed to be pretty wild with the hurricane offshore. One day I will get the pictures of the surf that I want, Usually great waves and the sky is gray and murky. This may work with the storm far enough off shore.

I have heard it referred to as abdominal migraines.

I think he has a number of...not exactly set-in-stone "triggers", but more like risk factors, that if enough of them add together, he has an episode. It is compounded by anxiety when it happens, as it's tough to stay calm.

I love an NCIS rerun. You can't beat the days of Tony and Ziva. Though, I do like the new cast with Gary Cole.

Low humidity and in the 70s sounds perfect to me. Why can't it be like that all the time? ...With occasional rain overnight to water the garden!! Also, I agree with you about the concept of being 'selfish'. Self-care and appreciation is so important. (Plus, some people throw around the word selfish just to get others to do what they want them to do. )

Thank you all, always for your love and support in all ways! Dad will be home within an hour from doing laundry and shopping at Ralphs. I will ask him to contact his primary for a podiatrist recommendation and/or meantime a cream recommendation! There has to be something I can apply that would give me some relief right now. I do still have a can of my Pain Ease that I used to use for TMJ issues. For this, I'd prefer a cream. I'd appreciate any suggestions any of you may have. Looking for something to relieve top of feet twinges of soreness from unhappy feet being exercised more!

Good morning. Today is off and on rain. We really don't need any more right now. I keep hoping and praying that Hurricane Lee stays East of us. I hope it does not impact any land areas significantly. It is supposed to weaken alot when it hits the cold water so that is good news.

Pollyanna - glad your son slept through the night. I'm sure he needed that continuous painfree sleep.

Wow, did it rain yesterday around here ! Rained on and off in the morning so I wasn't able to sneak out for a walk at work, I tried to head out after lunch and it was a very light rain but I didn't want to get wet so I went back to the office. And then when I got home from work, the downpour came. Glad I was already home and finished bringing the big bags of dog food and cat food in the garage from the car. Pulled the car in the garage and no sooner did I walk into the house and let the dogs in from the yard, it started pouring. Talk about perfect timing!

I started watching the Reds game last night but I was so tired, I went to bed at 8:00 and fell asleep as soon as my head hit the pillow.

Made my yummy porkchops for dinner and just put a salad with it, need to get the vegetables in.
