Quarantine and chill and kindness chatty clubhouse: Jump in and join the conversation! All is welcome!

Good morning. It was a chilly 52 this morning, going to mid 80's. I left the ac on last night, but closed the bedroom door and opened the windows. Ah, fresh air. We were supposed to see that super full moon last night, but I didn't see it anywhere, and it didn't seem that cloudy out. I'll try and catch it when it's a blue moon on Aug 30. Heading out to do errands and grocery shopping.

@flyingdumbo127 Have fun shopping!

Have a great morning all

Good morning everyone!

Only went back two pages...to much to catch up on!

Dad since then has had various 🦶trouble :( Over the last week, not wearing any type of slippers, I have begun to see why for myself :( This floor is very hard as I said. It's also uneven in places. I am blessed to have healthy, thin feet that don't normally cause me any issues whatsoever.

So I have hard floors in my house, and weak ankles so it's not unusual for me to be wearing shoes of some sort all the time. I'll wear flip flops year round, and also have bought the linked clogs below as 'house slippers' type shoes. I will admit, I'm partial to the Dansko brand and probably have about 20 pairs!
Here is what I'm wearing in the house:

https://www.amazon.com/Clarks-Women...s+by+clarks+flip+flops&qid=1690981583&sr=8-16
(have had the Clarks Cloud Steppers before, which are really comfortable)

https://outlet.dansko.com/o-6420755400

the above I have, and will be buying another pair at some point. This link is from the Dansko Outlet website, but I think they have other colors on the regular website and/or if you are in the Southeast PA area and can get to their physical outlet store.
Crystal is doing a little better although yesterday she really felt the effects of the accident.
That's good to hear.
Carol kept custody of the kids.
I was shocked to read your description of what went on. I'm lucky in that I have no divorce in my immediate family so no frame of reference. I was a first shocked to read that they can just simply take a statement (from the ex husband in regards to your husbands behavior) as fact but I guess, thinking about it, they have to bank on the side of caution just in case. But still - does the court interview your husband, you, your daughter and the kid(s) in regards to this accusation? What an incredible pain in the *** to have to go thru...I'm happy for your daughter in that she retained custody.
You can’t do wrong and come out right. I do believe in Karma.
I am also someone who subscribes to the belief of Karma. Your father had a great saying -
We were supposed to see that super full moon last night, but I didn't see it anywhere,
I saw it, unfortunately it was at 2:30 this evening with the demon child dog that decided she HAD to go out. And frolic in the moonlight. And not want to come back in! It was super bright.

Dealing with a back spasm this morning, came on me all the sudden when I was walking around the porch this morning. I did drive to NC Monday, and then turn around and drive back yesterday, so much of the past few days have been spent sitting. I should have stretched when I stopped but did not. And I should be more active in general, so in all honestly it's my own fault that I'm feeling this way today. I also didn't drink as much water as I normally do, so that didn't help either. Good reminder to me to get my butt walking again at a minimum. And more yoga. I'll be making these trips at least 2 times per month for the next few years so I need to figure it out sooner rather than later.

In the office today until 4, then up for my every 2 week pedicure treat. On the road tomorrow afternoon to jobsites. BIL's B'day dinner on Saturday.

So last weekend we went and saw Haunted Mansion - it wasn't bad. Product placement was a bit much, in come cases a bit comical actually! But it was a amusing movie and worth going to see, and there were several nods to the ride that seemed pretty spot on.

Dinner last night was eggrolls that my husband made (he's on a egg roll kick - filling them with all kinds of stuff) and I think tonight will be either sautéed chicken w/ vindaloo sauce over rice or grilled chicken over rice.

So - anyone familiar with Henrietta Lacks? If no, I would like to recommend a book to you:

The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks by Rebecca Skloots.
I first read this book about 10 years ago, when I heard about the story of the HeLa cells and Mrs. Lacks. It's FACINATING, and even someone like me w/ no medical background could easily follow the story and what was going on. I bring it up because yesterday her family settled a long simmering lawsuit over the situation and it's been all over our local news.

Quick Good Morning :grouphug:I will post more when we come home later. Thank you all so much for your kind 🛍️words and encouragement! Easyas, wow, thank you for the links. I will check them out this afternoon. 🙏for your back to feel better! I'm sorry you also have firsthand experience with the pitfalls of hard floorings :(

Snowysmom, God Bless your grandkids, go team ⚾! Thank you for cheering them on not only at their ball games but more importantly through their lives. You are such a blessing to them and all of us right here, too.

PollyannaMom, have a great🚶‍♀️with your neighbor. I'm so glad you have a walking buddy friend. Do your 🐈join you? :) How fun the library sounds. I hope the kiddos truly enjoy that and 🏊‍♂️🏊‍♀️too!

Lynn, pretty :beach:::MickeyMopicture! Thanks for sharing. May your errands go quickly and smoothly. Safe travels and cool homecoming!

Time for me to head off. Wishing all of you a most happy Wednesday.

Finally home from errands, at 3 pm. Went to the furniture store with niece to get a power lift chair for SIL. Their card got declined. We stood there for an hour waiting for the bank to fix the problem, and raise their limit for a day. Some moron at the bank put the increase on niece's card, instead of SIL's, and it took them 3 tries to get it onto the right card. Niece didn't have her card with her, and has no money in that checking account anyhow to cover it (debit card/credit union). The chair will be delivered Friday.

SIL just called. She said this morning she had a cold. They tested her for everything under the sun, and she has covid! Which means she caught it IN the hospital. They said they are sending her home because they don't want her there with covid, well she had to have caught it there since she's been there since last Tuesday.

Its sunny and breezy and 80 degrees.

Still lots of empty shelves in Walmart, no Special Kitty litter, and not one can of Friskies canned food. Plenty of the variety boxes, but no single cans. Very weird.

Off to find something for dinner.

Have a nice rest of the day.

Easyas123… thanks for the book recommendation, I just ordered it. I have been having a very difficult time concentrating on reading since my DH passed. I am trying very hard to get back to reading instead of having the tv on all day.
You are welcome! Another good book that is an easy read is the biography of Queen Noor. I can’t recall the proper title though

Extra :grouphug:Dazed.

Lynn, that is awful! Your poor SIL :( Please PM me if you think it might bring her a smile to get a CA postcard. I can send it to you for her:hug:

Easyas:hug:Thanks for the 📚recommendations. I will Google them.

Dad and I are long safely home thanks to God. We both agreed that we much prefer brief trips as in just a couple of places right here in our own neighborhood.

We did save a lot of money at Target. Target Circle has two different offers this week. One is for a $15 Target Gift Card when you spend $50 in Household Essentials. As an fyi Target brand of antibacterial hand wipes, Cottonelle flushable wipes, and even a couple Target brand of bags counted toward this. Then, we had save $10 when you spend $60. When I realized we had $53 or so it made cents to get $7 more "free."

Just be positive should you use both offers that both are applied. We immediately got our $15 gift card. We did not get a $10 discount. We finally received that via 2 $5 Target gift cards. So, now we have $25.25 at Target which works!:dogdance:

Dad got a few things at Walmart. More of my applesauce at Sprouts.

We agreed how disappointing Burlington was! Really, Target and Walmart, Marshalls, for sure Old Mavy, have better clothing. Burlington just had a massive amount of stuff! I will say, Burlington, is still the place to go should you ever need a throw blanket. Ton of design choices. That was where years ago I got Sue's 🍩print fleecy blanket that she still loves.

💛To all and have a good rest of the afternoon, friends.

Sadly, my cousin had to cancel because the girls got sick. 🙁 I popped a get well card with some stickers in the mail to them, and we're talking about doing a different outing soon.

Yes! - I read that book quite a while ago and thought about it when I saw the news story this morning. I'm glad her family is getting her story out and more people will know about her.

Dinner last night was eggrolls that my husband made (he's on a egg roll kick - filling them with all kinds of stuff) and I think tonight will be either sautéed chicken w/ vindaloo sauce over rice or grilled chicken over rice.
Yum!! - It's always nice when someone else in the house gets on a cooking kick.

I saw it, unfortunately it was at 2:30 this evening with the demon child dog that decided she HAD to go out. And frolic in the moonlight. And not want to come back in! It was super bright.
I hate the full moon! Nobody (as far as I know) has been able to effectively study and explain the mechanism, but teachers and nurses know...it messes people up. I haven't been sleeping well, and I've been a klutz all day - I have a big scrape on my leg to prove it. 🩹 My goal tonight is to be in bed by 8:30!

Good morning. Welcome to another sunny day, temps high 80's again. But no humidity so that's a plus.
SIL sounded better this morning, but they're still sending her home. The chair was delivered at 9 this morning. The store made a special run with it so they wouldn't come into contact with her after she got home.

I already watered the garden, picked a few more cukes, more cherry tomatoes and 2 more squash. It's almost time to pull the lettuce out, it's starting to go to seed, but it lasted a lot longer out there than I thought it would in the hot weather.

Nothing else new here. Still never heard back from the painter. I texted her yesterday."Forget it, we got someone else. You just aren't reliable. If you want your things, come and get them by next week, or I'm just going to get rid of them." Enough is enough in my book. Dave's brother is going to finish the job she started.

Have a great day.

:hug:Lynn but good for you! I'm sorry it came to that but you absolutely have been most kind and lenient! Time to move on :)

:banana:PollyannaMom, and a hug, so glad you did get more rest.

Quiet morning here. Not much going on which is just fine :)

Hugs and love to all. I will come back later.

Just a quick hello. I was in the office today then had a dentist appt. I schedule the dentist for when I work in the office since they are in the next town. I don't want to have to find a new dentist in this area. I got a good check up so next appt in 6 months unless something comes up.

Have a good day.

Just had a heck of a downpour. I talked to Dave, he's going to have his brother call me tonight, or come over tomorrow when Dave comes to finish the sink plumbing down cellar, and give me an estimate. I don't really care at this point, just want it done!
SIL is so weird sometimes. She got discharged, and texted me that they were on the way over here, so they could pull up in the driveway and wave at me. It was dumping down rain, so all I could do was stick my arm out the door and wave, lol. I texted her and told her to get her butt home and stay there. She had a full mask on, niece didn't have one on. She thinks she's immune from everything :(
