Good Morning Everyone :)

Bright new day here, all is good, so very thankful. Sue will be celebrating early today her 100th at a huge party later this afternoon at church. Dad and I, of course, won't be there in person. We'll be there in spirit, and I sure look forward to hearing all about it. Dad, on his way to Pavilions this morning will be going into a local party store to get something similar to the Happy Birthday Yard Sign attached. We are hoping Sue might be able to see it even a little bit to enjoy when we bring it to her on her 100th birthday on Wednesday morning. We'll definitely ask her caregiver that morning to please take our picture with Sue. Dad or I, should Sue prefer not to, can even hold the sign :)

We started watching Picture a Perfect Christmas last night. I picture the only Perfect Christmas as of course, in a lowly stable over 2000 years ago where our Savior was born! That reminds me that today in some churches is a celebration of Christmas in July. I always enjoyed attending this annual service pre pandemic. Reminder to me that indeed by the Grace of God Christmas is every day because He is! I am called to Go Tell it on A Mountain. I chose this version to link btw because children are singing it. As I have shared before, to me, hearing young clear voices raised in praise especially at Christmas fills me with extra thanksgiving to God. After all, He did tell His Disciples to let the little children come to Him!
Dad and I are enjoying the movie. It does seem familiar from last year but enjoyable to rewatch again now :)

Have any of you used Door Dash? We haven't. I'm asking because, my very favorite applesauce that I enjoy daily is Sprouts Brand as pictured. I only like this product in the glass jar not in the prepackaged plastic cups as I have shared before. To me, those don't taste the same. Dad understands that indeed like he only truly enjoys his Perrier flavored water in their green plastic bottles, I only enjoy my Sprouts applesauce in the glass jar. Same idea. Sprouts Corporate office has told us that this product is being re packaged and that it might be a month before we see it again at our one and only Sprouts location near us. Dad will be going to this store in a little while to, of course, check whether they have it and to ask them directly about Door Dash. Door Dash claims to be able to somehow deliver to us this applesauce. We did call their customer service phone number yesterday and was told that the shopper could potentially go to outlying areas--similar to Boost through Ralphs in that way. We have also called other Sprouts, none of who have this applesauce in the jar, only the plastic cups which I don't want. That's why I'm asking whether any of you have firsthand Door Dash experience. :thanks:

With all my heart I always thank each of you, you know this, for being the kind lights of faith and love that you are!

Snowysmom💕with prayer and always cheer! I am truly so proud of you! You know i wish you a safe and fun trip all-around that indeed even in a tiny way brings extra peace to your spirit. Please do check in with us whenever you choose to :)

PollyannaMom:hug:, thank you and your DH again for all you do for his Lodge that helps many others.

Judique:grouphug: with prayers for your furry friends and DD alike to all feel better. Yuck to pesky bugs!

Lynn, :cheer2:hooray that you have no plans for today. Please like Luke needs to get some extra rest yourself! Take Care!

It should almost be time where I can watch online worship from our friend Carol's church. The time difference is so handy every Sunday for this reason! I look forward always to Sunday extra worship this way.

Wishing all of you a peaceful day of joy. I will come back later.

Good afternoon! I slept late but it felt good, I was tired after my shifts. One confused lady took a lot of my time and patience this week, poor thing. At one point, though, she cleared, and said, “I have just three things to say to you - thank you, thank you, and thank you”. 😅 Odd because she had been calling me and others trying to help her some choice names for hours and saying she’d have our jobs prior to that when trying to leave. We had to stop her and she didn’t like it. There were times I had flashbacks to caring for my mother. so I felt bad for her knowing it wasn’t her fault.

Glad you tried the Reiki, Snowysmom. From the sense of it, I think you’ll probably have better results if you do it at a time when you can truly relax and not have a lot of other things on your mind. It’s really all about mind and body relaxation. I don’t get to do it much at work because it takes at least 30 mins and I don’t have that kind of time in that setting, but every once in a while if desperate I’ll try it on a small scale with someone. I think I mentioned it here probably about a year ago now, I had a patient with a bad headache that nothing would touch so I offered to try Reiki on her head, and she said yes. So I did a probably ten minute session. But what happened was that she said her sight had come back in her eye that she had lost a day or two before during a procedure! She told the doctors what happened and I don’t think they believed it. But we knew. And it was very cool, even for me!

Judique, your dog story was cute with Kitty Kitty, lol. Does he have arthritis?

Mona, I hope you can find your applesauce and that you are able to spend some quality time with Sue!

That’s all I have time for right now I am being summoned outside to see Grady is in the pool! DH and DS got the new deck up yesterday so it’s easier now to get him in. Will try to post a pic later.

Enjoy the Sunday! 🐥

@flyingdumbo127, my DS uses DoorDash sometimes, but for restaurants rather than groceries. He hasn't had complaints that I know of.

I used to be really into Christmas in July - had a yearly craft party snd everything! But for some reason I've fallen out of the habit (even the extra Hallmark movies).

I think it's because the older I get, the faster time seems to fly. - Christmases don't feel so far apart anymore.

Pea:grouphug:always good to see you! God Bless that lady! I love that story! Thank you for sharing with us and always all you do for some many with love! Grady and Toto:dogdance:cheers and love always! Thank you on the applesauce and Sue. Dad did go to Sprouts and as we thought, they have no clue when it will be available again. As far as they know, no Sprouts has it right now. For that reason, they advised against Door Dash saying that should they truly have it, it might be OLD! We're passing on that for now.

🐈🙏indeed Judique. It is heartbreaking when our furry friends are in discomfort. Thank you extra for your care to your cat and dog.

Thanks so much, PollyannaMom. I'm very glad your DS has had good Door Dash experiences. Christmas in July, like I said, is a reminder always to me of the importance of slowing down which absolutely these days can be harder to do! That's why for me, it's more important to do!

Our local party store didn't have a big enough sign that would have worked. I did call Party City's 800# to ask whether they could do anything for me. The closest Party City is almost an hour away from us in Burbank which is near Costco and Walmart. The representative understood but said no. Even if I did pay the $10 shipping there would be no way to guarantee it would come by Tuesday. The sign itself cost $7 so $10 more for shipping is :scared1:I could possibly ask a friend who lives in Burbank to get it. No big deal. what matters will be seeing Sue on Wednesday! We will bring her 🍩

I enjoyed online worship this morning not from carol's church because that wasn't yet available for me to watch. God led me to do a You Tube search which brought me exactly, of course, where He intended to another church's service that I did enjoy from NY. I emailed this church to let them know that and say thanks.

Wishing all of you a peaceful and happy good afternoon.

What if you just bought some poster board at the dollar store and made your own? (You could even tape two pieces together.) They might have some big cut-out letters or stencils in the back-to-school section.

Alternately, I've seen big number balloons. You could get a one and two zeros, and then use golf tees or something to stake the strings in her lawn.

Great ideas, dear PollyannaMom, thank you. We have looked for ways to make our own. Depending what type of big balloon Ralphs may have Tuesday morning we may do that. I did just have the idea of foam board thanks to your posterboard idea, of course first. Foam board is usually sturdy puper we could get big letters and some type of stick. Possibilities for sure :)

Hi! Connie is resting at home. There had been a mixup regarding picking up pain meds, so she is sleeping now, and that’s for the best.

I have blueberry/zucchini bread in oven that I will mail to them tomorrow.

We with my DSis and Garry have tix for Jay and the Americans tonight. Looking forward to it.

Pond’s waterfall stopped, there’s always something!:fish:Thankfully, there’s a fountain, and another hose that circulates the water. If left static, the water could get too hot very soon.

@bobbiwoz Thanks for the Connie updates. I'm glad she's resting.
As to your blueberry zucchini bread, do you just add fresh blueberries to a normal recipe? I have a zucchini that was hiding in the garden and it's big enough to make at least 2 loaves of it. Looking for something different and the blueberry addition sounds yummy! TIA

I've been out of pocket this last week. I received a call from Chelsea (DIL) Sunday night asking if I could drive down to Houston on Monday to stay with James. She was not feeling well and didn't want to stay around him just in case. She was tested for flu, covid, strep, etc and all came back negative. So I hurriedly did payroll and a few other things in the office, then packed for a jaunt down to Houston. So I got a surprise trip to see James and came back yesterday. Chelsea's mom drove in and is staying until Wednesday, then Chelsea is back with him. Good news is James is all set to come home next weekend. He has his 90 day bone marrow test tomorrow. The doctor is expecting everything to be good.

Mack gave me the cold shoulder when I came home yesterday. He has really been missing the kids and with all the traveling Joe, Carol and I have done so far this month, he is tired of being left behind. He has warmed up a little today.

Carol has been in Idaho since Tuesday. She has a friend, Sarah, that she has known since kindergarten. Sarah's parents have a second home in Idaho and invited Carol to come up with Sarah for a week. They have been having a grand time. The view behind the house is of the Grand Tetons. Carol did receive some not so good news on Thursday. Her ex has filed for primary custody and the emergency hearing is on Wednesday. He has convinced the court liaison that the kids are better off with him. And the liaison is not communicating with Carol's lawyers. She is supposed to but has not responded to their calls or emails. So if you could keep this whole situation in your prayers I would appreciate it. Carol has talked to the kids twice last week. Something is up, Lil Joe in the first phone call was whispering that he missed her and Mack. In the second call he was crying and hugging the phone saying that he missed Mack. In the last two weeks, Carol has noticed that there was no sparkle in the kids eyes that there normally is. When she went on her first weekend visitation three weeks ago, Lou Lou wanted to come home with her. And she didn't get to have her second weekend visitation because her ex took them to Hawaii. Sad, sad, sad...........

I'll be back in touch after Wednesday. Ya'll take care and have a good rest of your Sunday!

First off, all, huge :grouphug:Kirby! So many prayers, of course, my friend, too. Those poor precious kiddos! I absolutely pray extra that they are able to stay right where they belong! I truly find it abhorrent that their voices albeit young have (probably) yet to truly be listened to in court--you know how wrong I feel that is! They are who should matter! Please know from far away I sure am sending all of you extra ❤️I will send the kiddos some mail soon to come, too.

Bobbiwoz🙏that all of you truly have a safe and fun evening! I'm so thankful you are able to go! Continuing prayers of healing, of course, for Connie! Please let me know if she would enjoy a postcard for card. You know I would be happy to send her one or you one to give her.

Lynn, Dad sure loves his fresh 🫐

Wishing all of you a peaceful rest of the day!

Good morning everyone. Bright and sunny, temps into the 90's.

@Kirby Great news about James, continued prayers that he gets stronger and stronger. That is awful about Carol. Her ex is a piece of work. It's so sad that the kids are being put in the middle of it. I am sending prayers for the emergency hearing this week, that her ex doesn't get what he wants. That would be devastating for all involved.

Luke was here for about an hour yesterday and then had to head out. He had a 4+ hour drive back. At least he was going into the Bay Bridge and not coming out, when traffic on a Sunday night is always a nightmare. He texted that he had no problem, zoomed right across, while outgoing traffic was at a standstill. It was good to see him, even if only briefly.

Already watered the garden, picked squash and a few cherry tomatoes, and 1 lone almost fully ripe yellow one. It was caught up against the main stem and I was afraid it would rot right there if I didn't get it out now.

Off to clean the bathrooms and wash the floors.

Have a great day

Good morning.pooh:

Worked all weekend so nothing fun this past weekend. Friday night the kids and I went to our parish picnic at the little amusement park that sits in the cornfields (it's hard to explain). It's a very small place, only opened when it gets rented out for the day or night. The catholic churches in the area hold their parish picnics there at the end of summer before school starts back up. Ours was last Friday night. Jokingly I asked the boys if they wanted to go, we haven't been there since 2011 maybe when the kids were in grade school, surprisingly they all said yes. Usually some of the men volunteer to run the grill so you can buy hamburgers and hot dogs and then just bring stuff for your family to share, that's what we did. They have rides, a rollercoaster for the big kids, a smaller one for the little kids, ferris wheel, merry-go-round, little boats, tilt-a-whirl, screaming eagles, scrambler, electric rainbow, and all the rides are free. My grown kids and the girlfriends were going from ride to ride having the best time, it was like they were 10 years old again. Ice-cream and mini-golf are also free so they did those at the end. It was cute watching them have so much fun. Mia and I just sat on the bench watching. She was not a fan of the merry-go-round, cried 1/2 way through the ride.😢

Kirby - glad you were able to visit with your son. Great news that he gets to come home next weekend.

Bobbiwoz - the blueberry zucchini bread sounds delicious! I've never seen that combo before.

Forecast called for rain late today ☔. I figured I would set my hanging baskets out in the landscaping to get some rainwater when I get home from work. Just looked out the window here at work and it's raining now. Seriously 😠!!! My hanging plants don't get much water being on the porch.🌹

Headed into a meeting in a few mintues so I'll wrap it up. Have a great day!

:grouphug:Easyas and thank you for checking in. Please do take care and get some extra 💤Much congratulations to your son and his wife. I do look forward to hearing about their special day. Thank you again for all the love you put into making it so! :)

Lynn, I need to take a 🛌just thinking about all you have already done this morning. As always, your energy amazes me! I'm very thankful you got to see Luke again and that he's safely home.

Footballmouse, your park 🏞️outing sounds like a lot of fun. Aww, poor Mia. Extra :lovestructo hear. Have a safe and good day at work, my friend.

Quiet morning here. Dad will soon be heading out to return a picture frame to Marshalls before his doctor's appointment. As always, extra prayers for him are most appreciated. I hope to talk with at least one friend later who went to Sue's big party yesterday. Amazing that in only 2 days she will be 100. What a blessing it will be to see her. I'll definitely share about my visit :)

Love to all, always. Happy Monday. I will come back later.

Good afternoon slipping thread save from almost page 2 which is not allowed! Dad, thanks to God, had a very good doctor's visit. We are so grateful.

I also have gotten to talk with one friend who was at Sue's big party yesterday. Barbara said it was lovely! As expected, it was also packed! I was happy to also hear that regional churches along with family and friends, donated $5,000 in Sue's honor to the church food pantry! Sue had requested pantry donations as her gift. Dad and I are grateful for that and extra to know on Wednesday we will be dropping off a pantry donation of food.

Yum Yum, glad I called today, said they won't give me any discount on 🍩for Sue :( I ahould have written down the name of the person I spoke with earlier this month. But since had only promised 2 free donuts that doesn't even matter since a dozen cost $17.99:scared1:We will do much better at a Von's we will be driving by anyway to get to Sue's. $9.99 is at least a little better. Yum Yum would have been out of the way. All good :)

:grouphug:to all.

Good afternoon.

I have been checking in but have had a lot of little things going on. @Kirby - I can't get over what a jerk your daughter's ex is. I despise when kids are used as weapons against the ex.

Jim saw the cardiologist today and all is well there but he wants him to take a couple more walks a day than he is doing now. He's worried that Jim leads to sedentary a life and it will be good for his mental health. I told him just take the dog out more often, she loves her walks. I see the same dr. in a couple of weeks but we talked about my limp. The knee is really hurting. He advised not going to the big ortho group around here, I agree with that, He also said to put off a knee replacement if I can. I totally agree with that. I will see an ortho though to get an idea of what is going on with the knee.

I wish I had gone to Anthony's ball games yesterday but they were 90 miles away and about a 2 hour drive. He played 3 games. I don't know what happened in the first but in the last 2 games he did fantastic. In the 2nd game he went 2 for 3 and drove in 4 runs, including the winning run. The 3rd game was against a 17U team he is on a 15U team. They battled but lost. He still had a couple hits and drove in a couple runs. I will definitely try and get to games next weekend and August 5th he's playing in a tournament in Ripken Stadium. I'm looking forward to that one especially. Last year he had to miss it because of his knee so this will be an amazing experience for him. I will be wearing my "That's my grandson" baseball shirt.

Other than that I am still working on trying to get my pics regrouped from the hard drive crash. Time consuming but fun. The ice maker stopped making ice in my fridge. My grandson changed the filter today so I am hoping that is the issue. LJ comes home wednesday and my grandson is so happy about that. He was supposed to be in the Dominican Republic for 2 weeks to visit his mother's family but it wound up being a month. jay misses his son.

If you could keep my parents in your prayers I would appreciate it. My dad isn't doing very well and my mom is not dealing with it very well. Dad isn't walking around very much anymore due to bad knee issues and a fear of falling, he doesn't eat well, and the last couple of weeks his sugar numbers have been all over the place - mostly very high which I don't think is good since he has been losing weight. Dad is 87 so I am preparing myself mentally for what is inevitable, but hoping it doesn't happen any time soon.

I will do a mini trip report here soon. I am thinking of doing one on the Trip Report Forum once I go through pictures I can post. The title will most likely be "We're out of toilet paper AGAIN!!!" It will make sense when I do the report, I promise.

Have a great evening everyone.

Big:grouphug:and extra love with prayers, dear Taz all-around. Thinking of you, my friend. I actually already have mail to be sent to you tomorrow. Let me know if your parents would enjoy a postcard or card and I can send you one to give them. 💕

I spoke with birthday lady soon to be Sue a little while ago. It meant a lot to hear directly from her how much she enjoyed yesterday. She is also glad that dad and I will still be seeing her briefly on her birthday. That will definitely be very special indeed.

Have a good rest of the day dear fellow Quackers
